Track Palin called cops 'peasants,' asked father to shoot him, court documents say

Source: LA Times

New details emerged Monday about the arrest of Track Palin, the eldest son of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, with charging documents saying he broke into his parents’ home and beat his father, who was brandishing a gun but refused to shoot.

Track Palin, 28, was arrested Saturday and is charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault and criminal mischief; he remains in custody. A court filing describes a chaotic scene at the family’s home in Wasilla, Alaska, when Track Palin confronted his father over a truck he wanted to pick up.

His father, Todd Palin, had told him not to come to the home because Track Palin had been drinking and taking pain medication, according to a sworn police affidavit and charging documents.

“Track told him he was [going to] come anyway to beat his ass,” according to an affidavit filed by Wasilla police Officer Adam LaPointe.

Whatever the case, I hope he gets and accepts the help he obviously needs.

And I hope Sarah can figure out that, like 45, if you can dish it out, you better be ready to have it dished to you. Should we respect HER privacy? I think not. She'll likely blame it on President Obama again.

I know three brothers raised in such an environment--dysfunctional family dynamics including physical abuse. Great guys in some respects but completely screwed up in others, including relationships. One already has been incarcerated for beating his girlfriend.

Not difficult to envision in the failin' household. The kids get marked for life.

Alcoholism is a disease, but anyone can stop. Any time.

If they need help stopping, there is help.

If a person decides to take drugs or alcohol, they are still responsible for their actions. Most people take drugs or alcohol (alcohol is a drug) responsibly.

Most people are responsible enough to not mix drugs and drinking alcohol at the same time. Especially things like pain medication and alcohol. It's something they teach in school. And theoretically in Sunday School and church. And theoretically in the home too.

Most of the rest of the people are responsible enough to know when they are out of control after mixing drugs or taking drugs or drinking too much; responsible enough to know to know to cool it and to not create trouble.

But when people have a trouble-making personality, a feeling of entitlement, or a chip on their shoulder for perceived grievances, then drugs and alcohol don't help. But they are NEVER the cause.

to avoid ending up in jail from vandalism and drug use, according to news reports at the time. He reportedly was involved with vandalizing some school buses and supposedly messed with the bus' brakes. Reports at the time had him joining the military to avoid ending up in jail. After her failed candidacy, the two older girls were involved in a party thrown at the home of a local family who were out of town in which the house was trashed. Instead of Palin staying in Wasilla and getting her own house in order, she was running all over the country making appearances as if she was a rock star while her two older daughters were running wild because there was nothing to do in Wasilla but drink, party, and vandalize other people's property. Sounds like the "chickens coming home to roost," IMHO.

And before you say it, EVERYBODY JUDGES. Even Sarah Palin.
