Trump considered pulling Gorsuch's nomination after Gorsuch criticized him: report

Source: The Hill

President Trump threatened to rescind his nomination of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch after Gorsuch criticized Trump, The Washington Post reported Monday.

Trump reportedly considered pulling the nomination, afraid that Gorsuch wouldn’t be “loyal” to him. He also told aides that he knew of other judges that would want the position.

One aide described Trump’s anger at the then-nominee as an “explosion,” according to The Post.

Trump was also reportedly concerned that Gorsuch wasn’t grateful enough to Trump for the nomination. But his fears were assuaged after White House legislative affairs director Marc Short found a personal note Gorsuch had written to Trump but that Trump hadn’t received.

1. Of course Trump would want a judge who is loyal to HIM and not to the law

and the Constitution. I'm not surprised at SCROTUS' reaction (and maybe Gorsuch quickly got a clue, too, which is why he wrote him that ass-kissy note).

and got his post after all.

Trump justs needs someone to...(not fit to print), and his explosive anger dissipates.

He may be the worst Supreme Court justice for humanity in the last 70 years. At least Clarence Thomas was not aggressive, just voting furniture.

11. I'm not saying he will leave. Think of the SC as a Board Room for a large Corporation.

You have Roberts as Chairman of the Board and the other 8 as board members.

In order to get changes made (laws) in the company (USA), you have to get 5 of the 9 members on your side of the argument.

Gorsuch's "aggressiveness" may not play well with the other judges. He has stepped all over established protocol already.

Sometimes it just comes down to who likes you more than the argument on close cases.

How much more abject humiliation and systemic damage are we supposed to take? I'm sick of it.
