President Trump predicted that good Republican candidates will win big in 2018 after GOP candidates lost key races in 2017.

Trump had quickly backed Moore in the Alabama Senate race after Strange lost to him in the GOP primary. He also deleted tweets supporting Strange after the senators loss.

Trump had also endorsed Republican Ed Gillespie in the Virginia gubernatorial race, but Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) overwhelmingly defeated Gillespie in the election.
Trump blamed Gillespie for his loss in the race, saying he did not embrace me or what I stand for.

(59,504 posts)It is easy. If they win, they are like him and good. If they lose, they were not his - rallies and robocalls to the contrary.
The congressional special elections, replacing people he put on the cabinet were in very red areas. He is deluding himself if he thinks they are typical. The VA election showed an undeniable shift. ( Alabama can be considered a terrible candidate.)

(50,562 posts)Idaho, Utah and Alaska are the only guaranteed GOP holds in 2018. Trump's quality leadership has put the rest of the country in play. I expect the Senate to flip - all we gotta do is hold all the seats we currently have and flip three GOP seats, and it's ours. I think the House is definitely within reach - flipping 25 seats is going to be hard, but Trump makes it less hard.
If that bastard wakes up on November 7 to find Congress in Democratic hands, he will take it out on the entire country.

(17,462 posts)Anyone who loses wasn't a "good" Republican, not a real tRumper. He will then only count the wins, just like in this tweet.
He will be tired of "winning". SAD!
