Trump partly blamed Sessions for Alabama Senate loss: report

Source: The Hill

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 12/26/17 03:42 PM EST

President Trump partly blamed Attorney General Jeff Sessions for the GOP loss in the recent Alabama Senate election, The Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Trump placed blame on Sessions for Republicans losing the seat because Sessions’s departure from the Senate seat to Trump’s Cabinet had caused the special election, according to the AP.

Trump had nominated Sessions for the position, setting off the process. Sen.-elect Doug Jones (D-Ala.) defeated Roy Moore (R) in the election earlier this month.

The president first endorsed Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala) in the race before Moore won the GOP primary. Trump also backed Moore, despite the candidate facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct with teenage girls.

in some of the countries in the Middle East where I worked back in the 80's. If u were involved in a auto accident with a citizen of that country, u were to blame since the accident never would have happened if u hadn't been in country.

6. Yeah, Sessions never should have accepted that AG position.

I’m guessing Christie or Giuliani would have been nominated instead. I suppose Christie might have been marginally better if only because he’s not named after two traitors. Giuliani might have prevented the Comey firing but I have no idea if that would have been better for us or not.

even when he's 100% at fault for anything, he will never ever in his life take 1 second of responsibility, never. He nominated
Sessions, the evil elf didn't nominate himself. Just like with Russia, he knows he and Putin have been plotting this for years and that the race was 100% stolen. He says there's "no collusion", because that's not a legal term as his lawyers made clear. However, he knows he plotted his (conspiracy is a legal term and so is working against America's wellfare) theft, just like he knows he pays people to attend his rallies. He's also aware that he committed himself to doing things for russia and is busy doing Putin's bidding. did you note that almost all (if not entirely all) of his cabinet have ties to Russia? How would he know that unless Putin told him to put these particular folks into office? He's 100% guilty and should be locked up for life, but that won't happen. I want Mueller to take down the entire treason weasle party, but I aim high, lol.

They are led by a the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief, and they dodge every freaking element of responsibility for their own errors, and blame others. It is among the lowest of low human characteristics, and the republicans embody it like slithering snakes.

I mean, c'mon. This is silly.

I realize people here love to run with the meme that Trump is a drooling idiot but nobody is that stupid.

And, of course, the AP cites no sources once again. And actually, Strange's seat was safe until Alabama's Republican governor decided to call for a special election.

which is not the same kind of logic that the sane part of the world uses. Of course it's Sessions' fault: just because Donnie appointed him Attorney General didn't mean he had to give up his senate seat: lots of people can do two jobs at once. Look at Jared - he's responsible for a whole lot of things (there's that Middle East peace business, solving the opioid problem, maintaining relations with Mexico (or is it China?) and a bunch of other things). If Jared can do it all, so can Sessions.

Of course, those of us who live in a reality-based world interpret this as yet another instance of Trump either trying to pass the blame to someone else, or forgetting what he said or did a short time ago.

did the idea originate with Trump or did Priebus and other Republicans, including Sessions, present it to him?
