Rubio: GOP tax bill 'probably went too far' to help corporations

Source: The Hill

BY SYLVAN LANE - 12/29/17 11:12 AM EST

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said in an interview published Friday that Republicans “probably went too far” cutting corporate taxes in their just-enacted overhaul of the tax code.

Rubio said he expects corporations to pay out higher dividends to shareholders and buy back shares to increase their stock price with proceeds from the bill.

“You’re going to see a lot of these multinationals buy back shares to drive up the price,” Rubio told the southwest Florida-based News-Press.

“Some of them will be forced, because they’re sitting on historic levels of cash, to pay out dividends to shareholders,” Rubio said. “That isn’t going to create dramatic economic growth.”

Sen. Rubio backs Mueller, wants probe to continue

BY JOSH DELK - 12/29/17 11:07 AM EST

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) backed special counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday, saying that he believes the prosecutor will carry out his investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian during the 2016 presidential campaign "in a fair and balanced way."

"From his reputation and everything I know about him, I remain convinced that when this is all said and done, Mueller is going to only pursue things that are true and he will do it in a fair and balanced way," Rubio said of Mueller in a News-Press interview. The senator's comments come one day after President Trump expressed confidence that Mueller would carry out the federal probe without bias despite recent attacks on Mueller's integrity from Republican lawmakers.

"I think the best thing that can happen for the president, for the country and for everyone is that he be allowed to complete his investigation and thoroughly and completely as possible and that we allow the facts from the investigation to lead where they may," Rubio continued.

Rubio, who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee that is also leading a probe into possible ties to Russia within Trump's campaign team, has previously said that Trump firing Mueller would be a "mistake" and that the president should allow the special counsel to conclude his investigation despite the president's belief that the search for collusion is a "witch hunt."

now that the deed is done in an attempt to save their slimy asses from being nailed to the wall. They voted for a horrible tax bill that their constituents hate. This is standard operating procedure for Republicans.

Hey Rubio, if and when you get time to get off your taxpayer funded boat that you bought, have you ever thought for one minute (I know it's a lot to ask for in the minute) what you fucking said about social security, and medicare, to all of those retiree's living in your state? Because asshole, you said this :

http://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-hiltzik-gop-social-security-20171130-story.html

And now your trying to walk back your fucking vote----------------------you own your fucking vote asshole in this tax scam, and over 45 million human beings on these two programs are now at fucking risk.

Your party asshole wants to spend money on defense for example, where do you get the money from taxes, and if you cut the tax base asshole, your math doesn't work-----------------it never has.

What do you think they did in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, they raised taxes, in the Iraq & Afghanistan war(s) they put it on a fucking credit card, which carried fucking interest rate, and now this country has a 6 trillion war debt, we are spending over 200 million a day in Afghanistan asshole, and the Chinese are going into Africa and Afghanistan and telling them we will give you roads and such, just give us your mineral wealth, while we expend blood and resources, and you said the corporate tax rate was cut to much.

You do understand asshole that when taxes were at 90%, the road you ride in on, and school you went too, was paid for in the 1950's 1960's and 1970's

1950---------------90% tax rate
1960's--------------70% tax rate
1970's------------- 70% tax rate

1980's ----------------39.5 % ---------------- a 40% loss in general revenue

2017--------------------21%-------------------and a 1.5 trillion budget deficit and over 4 trillion in lost taxes from corporations that already pay no fucking taxes..........................

FUCK YOU

And if you think that giving someone with child an extra 200 dollars in child credit is going to help-------------------what is your definition of credit, because it's fucking credit, that has to paid for, it is not hard currency----------------dick head---------------it's credit.

And if you think you can run to be president-------------------you are fucking wrong....................you math is wrong

So in closing, your laying the fucking ground work to what you said in LA------------------Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid, need to be cut------------------------fuck you, revisit your scam tax bill to solve the problem asshole.....................

Pass a high min. wage and mandate that these large corp. offer healthcare before they mis-use that money on stock buy backs and dividends.

Then why did you vote for this piece of crap legislation? Why?

What are you, some kind of stupid robot or zombie ? Personally I think you have a mental problem, knew that this legislation was bad, still voted for it tax-wise, even though it also had a provision in it to help eventually drive ACA out of business. Hope all of your retirees in FL remember this vote.

I think personally this will kill your future senatorial future in FL...and that the only future you may have is dog catcher. There are too many folks in FL w/ lots to lose under this legislation you just helped passed, and a big tattoo is on your forehead '2017 TAX BILL' (actually, 'LOSER' is better).

As to the so-called tax savings being passed on via increased dividends? I doubt it. It's too good of an opportunity for these corporations to buy back all of their shares, get out of the stock exchanges (go private) and then have NO accountability to anyone.

Remember fellow DU folks, big business is here solely on our behalf...w/o our spending, these guys' stock values will plummet...pass the word along.
