Putin voices hope for cooperation with U.S. in letter to Trump

Source: Associated Press

In a New Year telegram to President Donald Trump, Russia's President Vladimir Putin says a constructive dialogue between the two nations is essential for global stability.

The Kremlin said Saturday that Putin emphasized in his Seasons Greetings to Trump that Russia and the U.S. could develop a "pragmatic cooperation aimed at long-term perspective" on the basis of "equality and mutual respect."

Putin noted that "the development a constructive Russian-U.S. dialogue is particularly important for strengthening strategic stability in the world and finding the optimal answers to global threats and challenges."

Ties between Moscow and Washington sank to a post-Cold War low following Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the allegations of its meddling in the U.S. presidential election last year.

I'm a non-partisan, in terms of indicting hateful greedy evil acquisitve power brokers, no matter which side of the capitalist/communist line they come down on.

We're not a capitalist democracy, we're an oligopolist/monopolist 'democracy'. They're not pure marxists or leninists or trotskyists, they're billionaire commissars who are more equal than their proles.

There's nothing wrong with independent commodity production capitalism, there's nothing wrong with producing communally and sharing according to needs. There's nothing wrong with religious ideals, either.

It's the flawed execution and warping of those ideals by power brokers that causes all the problems.

Much more of this type cooperation and we're toast as a nation.

their military is much smaller than ours as is their economy, and their recent military and foreign interventions have been a hell of a lot closer to their own borders than our interventions have.

for suppression and ill-deeds, Putin continues to milk his country of billions, destabilized the Ukraine and buggered the election of the US. Still, I'd rate trump worse since he fronted for it and has the morals of a sewer rat.

And after he was sneaking oil to NK, like China has been doing, but trump isn't saying anything about Russia doing it, just China. This is nothing but PR so trump can lift sanctions for them so he can make 1/2 to a trillion off their oil find. Then the trouble from him gets increased even more here, and around the world. Trump is probably offered a commission, or debt relif if he lifts sanctions for putin.

of the bargain, lifting sanctions, so Putin is fed up with him. He may want the info on what the US is up to, or any secrets from other countries, but he is no friend of trumps.

Trump needs to know what to do next, and they can't use the Asian trip again for an excuse to meet.
