14 California Republicans at risk of losing their House seats due to Trump’s unpopularity: Wall Street Journal

01 Jan 2018 at 20:09 ET

............................As of right now, both of California’s U.S. Senate seats are held by Democrats as well as 39 of the 53 seats awarded to the state in the House.

According to the Journal, Democrats are looking at California’s 14 GOP House members as likely targets as part of their plan to take control of the House where they need to flip 24 seats.

With half of the GOP-held seats coming from districts that went for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Democrats feel seats held by stalwarts like Darrell Issa and Devin Nunes are ripe for the plucking as their Democratic challengers plan to hang Trump around their necks.

At issue is Trump’s dismantling of the Affordable Care Act, his position on climate change, his anti-immigration rhetoric and the recently signed GOP tax bill that will disproportionately hit California’s citizens who pay high mortgage interest rates and taxes that will be capped as deductions on their federal income tax returns starting in 2019...............................................

I left the full title because it would not fit in the screen.

These two need to be put out to pasture!

Rouda, Siddiqui and Keirstead just seem like the usual bored millionaires. My girlfriend strongly dislikes Rachel Payne as an individual but I don't know much more about her than that. Zarkades looks interesting but he looks like he is just going to ape Applegate's unsuccessful "i'm tough, I was a marine" campaign against Issa.

He sold his family farmland and invested it all (between $50k-$100K) in the Alpha Omega winery. http://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/politics/a9278165/devin-nunes-winery/

Apparently that winery sold to a Kremlin outfit, but that info has since been taken off its website as "outdated."

It is really not much in terms of assets. Nunes is one of the "poorest" Congressman in the House, and the most bribable.

won't be that hard given the mood off the country. 24+ is very attainable. The Senate may be a tougher row to hoe, but nowhere near impossible. Overall, I'm optimistic, despite Rethuglican bullshit. If that happens, shitgibbon is gone in Jan. '19 for sure. But I still think he'll declare victory and resign before it gets too hot, then skip the country. My personal prediction for many months now and I'm sticking to it.'

Mimi Walters was a No Show in 2017 but an early supporter of Donald Trump in 2016. She does what's she told. An absolute cipher of a congressperson. Finally the Democrats have a REAL Candidate, David Min, to challenge this once safe Republican seat.

Mighty Min is here to save the Day!

Is a useless back-bencher, Jeff Denham. His district (CA-10) is the in Northern San Joaquin Valley and HRC carried it in ‘16. He was my Rep before I moved to Hawaii. He runs away from his Party during his campaigns, claiming only to be a Farmer, not a Republican. The latest polling has him down eight points against a generic Democrat. He’s got to be defeated. He’s a pig.

Mon Jan 1, 2018, 11:49 PM
Jan 2018

I thought it took effect in 2018, like right now, though many might not realize it until they file their 2018 taxes in early 2019. But unless they adjust their withholding in 2018 (beginning about now) or pay additional estimated tax (beginning with the April 15 installment), they will face an underwithholding penalty. (For those itemizers that are affected by the SALT deduction limitation)

At issue is Trump’s dismantling of the Affordable Care Act, his position on climate change, his anti-immigration rhetoric and the recently signed GOP tax bill that will disproportionately hit California’s citizens who pay high mortgage interest rates and taxes that will be capped as deductions on their federal income tax returns starting in 2019.

Mr. Google doesn't say anything about it starting in 2019.

They were never going to retroactively apply it to 2017, the tax returns you will be filing in the next few months.

So many won't realize the full impact until they file in 2019. I plan to tell my clients the impact now, because I think it will be significant for many of them in CA & NY.

Get rid of those 14 cancers, especially Issa and Nunes! Then we just need 10 more seats nationwide to win the house and start real investigations and impeachment. Thing is Russia will be all in and US will do nothing to stop the theft, so we need a tsunami to wipe out their electronic hacking. GOTV 2018!!!! #RESIST
