(38,453 posts)It is supposed to be comedy, but it is easy to relate it to today, as Roland99 has done..
here is a link:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/
It is at Rotten Tomatoes, and also it is at Wikipedia:
here is a very short paragraph about the film...(I really enjoyed it)
________________________________________________________________________________________
In 2005, average in every way private Joe Bowers (Luke Wilson) is selected to take part in a secret military experiment to put him in hibernation for a year along with a woman named Rita (Maya Rudolph). The slumbering duo is forgotten when the base they are stored on is closed down and are left in stasis until 2505. When they finally wake up, they discover the average intelligence of humans has decreased so much that Joe is now the smartest man in the world.

(26,334 posts)is a real one between Bannon and Trump and to be honest I would not be surprised if they were trying to play their base like a fiddle to make it look like there is one.
Or in other words I would not trust them with a 1 billion lightyear long pole.

(175 posts)Trump's response:
Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.
Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isnt as easy as I make it look. Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country. Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans. Steve doesnt represent my basehes only in it for himself.
Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.
We have many great Republican members of Congress and candidates who are very supportive of the Make America Great Again agenda. Like me, they love the United States of America and are helping to finally take our country back and build it up, rather than simply seeking to burn it all down.

This is amazing to watch. I think we are watching the final conclusion of the Republican, Reagan Revolution. Total selfishness ultimately distilled into nothingness.
Final destination for Republicans: The Hell of utter selfishness.
We are almost there.

(16,646 posts)I've stated before that I see far too much of my father's decent into dementia in Trump's behavior. The addition of this apparent paranoia streak is also bothering, mostly because that appeared much later in my father. So either he's further along, or he is progressing differently (or I guess he's just a moron). But I'm wondering how many people around him are aware of his decline and are busily either protecting him, hoping he can hold on, or worse, trying to wring the last bit of benefit out of him for themselves. One wonders if Bannon is one of these people and is positioning himself for the inevitable.

(2,034 posts)It makes sense for DT to attack someone who goes after his family. What doesnt make sense is the 3 Breitbart articles about this. That place is in upheaval right now.
Either Breitbart is trying to set themselves up as independent ahead of the 18 elections, or Bannon is declaring open season on the WH. any other possibilities?
Volaris
(10,275 posts)Britebart will use this as an excuse to claim that the about-to-be-indicted pres is just another establishment RINO who wasn't enough of an outsider to stop the DemGayAgenda and drain the swamp. This will be done to set the argument that rather than electing Dems who actually give a damn about them, their votes should go to other tea party loons who believe what the Base does. Bannon is about to destroy his own creation because his creation isn't quite crazy enough in the right way, and too crazy in others.
Or, Bannon is about to tell Mueller EVERY THING to save his own ass from a prison stint.

Strange that Bannon hadn't lost his mind last month, though, when both he and Trump touted Roy Moore for the Senate. You would think the mental derailment would have been articulated by Trump at that time. LOL.
