Papadopoulos fiancee interviewed by Mueller, says she talked Mifsud

The fiancee of the former Trump campaign foreign policy aid who plead guilty to lying to the FBI last year reveals she was subpoenaed by and spoke with investigators on Robert Mueller's special counsel probe last year in a new interview.

Simone Mangiante told Business Insider that she interviewed with Mueller's team who asked "a lot of questions about Joseph Mifsud."

"It was shocking to me that they wanted me as a witness, but I have nothing to hide," she added, referring to Mueller's team. "And I think they were happy with the interview." Mangiante and Papadopolous met last year over LinkedIn after noticing they had a mutual connection - Mifsud - whom Mangiante worked for briefly in 2016 in months leading up to the election, according to BI.

It's unclear if Mifsud personally introduced Papadopolous to Mifsud, but she told Business Insider that Papadopolous asked her about Mifsud.
