Trump Spiritual Advisor Wants You To Send Her Up To 1 Month's Pay Or Face 'Consequences'

Source: Yahoo News

Paula White, a prosperity gospel preacher with close ties to President Donald Trump, is calling on followers to send her donations of up to one month’s salary. Those who don’t pay up could face “consequences” from God as he demands the dough as a “first fruits” offering.

“The reason is God lays claim to all firsts,” White wrote on her website. “So when you keep for yourself something that belongs to God you are desecrating what is to be consecrated to God.”

In this case, the “firsts” are money, which “supernaturally unlocks amazing opportunity, blessing, favor and divine order for your life.”

White, who is chairwoman of Trump’s evangelical advisory committee, claims she contributes a month’s pay every year as a “seed,” which according to prosperity gospel is supposed to grow into riches and other blessings. She’s also calling on others to contribute their own firsts, in the form of wages for a day, week or entire month

Oral Roberts wanted to build a medical school on his campus, so he told his followers that God had spoken to him and told Oral that if he didn't come up with $8 million by this time next year, God was going to have him whacked.

Which is an interesting way of portraying Our Lord and Savior...Jesus the Hitman. Hoo boy.

Desperate Trumpers will probably do it too. They'll believe this will help them get the good jobs and wage increases and whatever is supposed to trickle down to them from the fabulously wealthy job creators.

IMO, mega churches are an example of Capitalism run amok. The leadership at these institutions are slimey snake oil salesmen / saleswomen who use Christianity as an excuse to live their pockets with the money of poor people.

If even 50% of that money went to those in need, I would be happy. However, “those in need” to these people translates to “I need another summer home and this year’s model sports car.” It’s highway robbery against the guillible.

Paula White contributes a month's pay every year to her so-called church. Then she gets her pigeons to contribute a month's pay to Paula White's so-called church in hopes that other people will send THEM a month's pay.

First, exactly how many churches can there be?
Second, this sounds like the Amway business model.
And third, how is this any different from what the moneychangers were doing in the Temple?

Every time I hear one of these hucksters shaking people down for cash, I think of my own grandma, who used to send these people money all the time. She hardly had a cent to her name but sent money to them in hopes of God's favor. Makes me sick to this day knowing people like this woman live high on the hog on money from poor people who just want things to go their way sometimes.
