The White House intends to destroy voter data collected by the election fraud commission President Donald Trump recently shut down, the Justice Department said in a court filing Tuesday night.
White House Director of Information Technology Charles Herndon said in a declaration submitted to a federal court in Washington that officials plan to erase the information, rather than transfer it to the Department of Homeland Security or the National Archives and Records Administration.
Herndon also indicated that White House press secretary Sarah Sanders' comment last week that the commission's "preliminary findings" were being sent to DHS was inaccurate.
"The Commission did not create any preliminary findings," Herndon wrote.

(262 posts)Dems better be on the look out for any criminal activity. Repubs are the worst criminals when it comes to saying one thing and doing another. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Repubs keep the list and use it again in later elections. You don't do this kind of work and just delete it. Sarah Huckelberry Sanders is SUCH A FUCKING LIAR that I wish someone in the press pool would call here out and not give her and inch of slack!! She's as bad as her ASSHOLE dad!!

(32,726 posts)I think the datafiles they want to destroy are all the American citizens' personal data including name, address, SSN, emails, banking info, society/club memberships etc. You know, this was the stuff we were up in arms about when they collected it all last summer.
The Federal government has no right to collect our private information like that, it should be destroyed.

(24,713 posts)I wouldn't trust this criminal team with anything, look who is in charge, Jeff Sessions, the same "guy" that went after people in Alabama for voter fraud, the same state that closed down motor vehicle places so human beings could register to vote................give me a break-------------------------wait until tomorrow, they will put the wet finger in the air and see which way the wind blows for that day................
I want to see a bon fire, then having a reporters verify that it is the documents, and having them throw it in the bon fire..................................

That information will be able to be mined. It will be on some backup somewhere and eventually someone will stumble on it. It may be tucked away by the GOP to be used in the next or next election for what ever nefarious activity. No matter what agency, person, etc. says the data will be destroyed doesn't understand if it is on the Internets (meaning that the data was collected or transmitted through the public network, ie. Internets) it is out there forever and someone somewhere can get it.

(9,256 posts)DHS could not use the data to market that ruse to the American people so Trump admin considers it valueless.
DHS will be ordered to use other means to uphold the "massive voter fraud" ruse.

(8,138 posts)The lawsuit this is responding to was asking for "information and records" and "documents" including communications.
Herndon isn't necessarily trying to get the voter data, he wants to see what the Repubs on the committee might have been talking about among themselves.

And they have already been caught doing this:
"Before he sent that letter, Kobach communicated privately with Republicans Hans von Spakovsky and J. Christian Adams, two future commissioners on the probe who had not yet been appointed."
and:
"Dunlap has received no information about the commissions activities since its last public meeting on Sept. 12 and said he had been excluded from communications in which the commissions work was discussed, including the planning for that September meeting."
