A top anti-abortion advocate at the Department of Health and Human Services abruptly resigned Friday evening.
Teresa Manning, the deputy assistant secretary for population affairs, left after about six months on the job.
A department spokesperson did not give a reason for her resignation, but said HHS "would like to thank her for her service to this administration and the American people."
One of Manning's primary duties was overseeing the Title X federal planning programs, which funds clinics providing contraception and preventive health services.

A rep said nothing was unusual in her leaving, but that sounds pretty unusual to me.

(5,801 posts)These crackpot religious extremists and other assorted ne'er do wells get installed by the dump maladmin into high Federal positions, then have to work side by side with competent career civil servants.
Once inside, the kooks receive constant reminders that they are out of their depth, even though the competent employees are no doubt biting their tongues and going out of their way to be diplomatic and cooperative. But, over time, this atmosphere must grate on the kooks' nerves to the point that in this case the woman snapped.
My suspicion is that the dumpsters will try to wreck the civil service, one of the bulwarks against corruption and fascism in government.

What happened with this woman aside, the overall goal of the dumpsters--at the behest of the kook brothers and other crackpot billionaires--is to destroy the ability of the Federal government to do many of the things it currently does, and which are necessary in a complex, large society such as the U.S. is today--the days where everyone was a small farmer and there was minimal need for a functioning Federal government are long gone.
But, one of the things standing in the way of these vandals is the Civil Service System, which includes rules for the conduct of Federal employees and protections to insulate those employees from political interference. Since the dumpsters want everything to be crony-based, not merit-based, my suspicion is that they will try--especially if they have enough time after the 2018 elections --to destroy the Civil Service system. All under the guise of making government more "accountable" and "draining the swamp", of course.
dump seeks to misplace his dimwitted followers' anger from the rightful targets--GOPee policies that have created reagonomics and destroyed the middle class, plus CEOs who have shipped our manufacturing base overseas--onto innocent civil servants whom the GOPee has painted as evil bureaucrats via their well-orchestrated propaganda campaign of the last 30 years.
There is a case pending before the Supreme Court now which, if it is decided by gosuck and the other 4 cons, will destroy public sector unions. Once that is done, the dumpsters will have a free hand to go after civil servants. They want to turn decent middle class Federal jobs into subsistence level low-wage privatized contract gigs with no benefits.
Any Federal worker who votes puke is an idiot.

..............Valerie Huber, who had been serving as chief of staff for the HHS' assistant secretary of health, was named acting deputy assistant security of OPA. Huber is an advocate for abstinence education who joined HHS in June 2017.
A source with knowledge of Manning's dismissal said that staff were told to leave the floor of the HHS building and to take their computers, in order to ensure that no one witnessed her being escorted out.
