Donald Trump 'took offence at slights from the British'

Source: The Times

Trip cancelled for personal reasons, say officials

President Trump’s decision to cancel his visit to London was for “personal reasons” after a series of perceived slights, British officials said last night.

Mr Trump had been expected to open the new American embassy in the capital but has scrapped the visit after clashing with the mayor of London and Theresa May.

A Whitehall source told The Times that the decision came after the president was left smarting over rows including a rebuke from the prime minister when he appeared to endorse a far-right group. “I don’t think anyone believes this is an issue of policy or divergence between our countries,” the source said. A US diplomatic source said that “concerns about the optics” were “part of the menu” of issues worrying the White House. No 10 was said to have found the decision a shock. Venues for the visit had been discussed although no date had been finalised.

Mr Trump wrote on Twitter that his cancellation was based on his disagreement with the decision to sell the lease on the US embassy in Grosvenor Square and build a new mission in Battersea, an “off location” south of the Thames. He blamed the Obama administration for the move, even though the deal was announced in October 2008, a month before Barack Obama was elected, under the administration of President Bush Jr. The embassy later issued a statement that appeared to contradict Mr Trump, insisting that the Grosvenor Square building had “aged beyond its ability to be improved” and that the new site was chosen because it was “the best overall location”.

After many things he's said , including those words he used against Africa, what does he think is going to happen. He demeans people, groups, and countries then acts as though they should bow down to him still. He's a racists, and a danger towards any country, including ours, and can't be trusted not to start trouble anywhere.

He's probably pretty close to the end of the line with his handlers. They've propped him up long enough to be damaging to the US economy and the US cooperation with the non-soviet world.

The handlers don't expect any payback from the multi-million $/rouble "loans" and really don't want him, his family, his collusionists to be available for a post-mortem interrogation/analysis.

Don't know how he'll go down, but it won't be pretty.

After that one, the Queen may not be so friendly to Repugs. I can just see her cringe at the very mention of Dirty Donald's name and the mayor of London does not want his city torn to shreds by massive protests.

over privileged life that his negative behavior has led to negative consequences. In the past if someone tried to hold him accountable he pushed them out of his life. Look what he did to Cohen and his wives and his businesses. Those divorces and bankruptcies didn't happen on accident. That was his one and only coping skill and he can't use it. He can't quit the presidency and leaders of other countries aren't going to quit either.
