Trump's slap at 'fake' media draws boos, hisses from Davos crowd

Source: USA Today

DAVOS, Switzerland President Trump's swipe at the "fake" news media Friday at the World Economic Forum prompted some hissing and booing from the audience.

During a question-and-answer session with the forums founder after his main speech to the group, Trump said it wasnt until he became a politician that he realized how nasty, how mean, how vicious and how fake the press can be.

The comment prompted some scorn from the room.

Schwab declined to comment on whether his questions for the president were too soft, but he said, As a politician who we are familiar with we are used to him expressing his views about the media.

It is snarky, cynical, paranoid, and detrimental to a free press.

It is unAmerican.

The only fake news comes from faux news and those who re-spew it.

I watched a video on WWII last week, it referred to tactics of de fuhrer

infallibility principle - the fuhrer is always right

ubermensch - fuhrer as superman, and of course the non-Aryans as subhuman

Exactly what we are seeing today

and that there is NO way the American people elected him.

That of course on the ground KGB agents flipped votes and hundreds of voting precincts in several states. Or interfered with computer software, etc

Hillary did NOT go from being ahead by several points in multiple states to losing them in 3 days.

I met Howard Dean in Geneva right after he attended Davos. It was a celebration of Obama's inauguration at the home of one the Swiss-domiciled Democrats Abroad.

What a contrast, but at least after years of dedicated, smart and educated Americans who care about both the world and our country's role in it, all attending see the contrast Trump is, and know full well that he is the exception, not the rule. The rest of the people attending will realize to what point "we the people" are cringing at what has been foisted upon us, and that we are not what Trump embodies. Of all people, the attendees at Davos know this better than anyone, because for years, they have been meeting with our best and brightest. They know that even the most cynical, business-minded, money-worshipping Republican is a better human than the one we sent them this year.

The European press realizes what a joke he is, and never lets a day go by where they neglect to point it out.

What they don't understand is how we let this happen to ourselves.

He thinks that because there were no protesters (who weren't able to get near the summit) that he is a rock star in Europe. It drives me insane that he can't see how much he is ridiculed and hated by the rest of the world. I wish he would visit the UK. I am sure they would give him the welcome that he deserves. Nobody can dish out disrespect like the British.

It's quite another to guard a visitor in a large city. If Trump were to visit London, Paris or Berlin, it would be nearly impossible to conceal the level of disdain the Europeans hold for him.

You have to see this in context.

Most of the Europeans who go to Davos live in societies in which this kind of narcissism, this egocentrism, is the subject of ridicule.

Trump is the very image of the primitive American when it comes to social values. He is such and egotist that it is beyond belief. He does not seem to care about anyone but himself and maybe his children. That is my opinion based on having lived in different countries in my life.

I can't think of why anyone at Davos would take him seriously or want to listen to anything he has to say. Surely they must all know what a joke he is. They can't all be as brainwashed as the trumpers over here.

I'm very disappointed in that, and fully expect the WH andor Faux to spin it as disapproval for the nasty media.
