He's probably got the carryover max 240 hrs (30 days) annual leave plus 3 or 4 days accumulated for CY2018. That's 19 days which takes him to Friday, March 16th with the 17th/18th being the weekend.

He probably wanted to stay on and collect a paycheck as well as the pay for his accumulated leave when he retired. The job just probably got to be too much of a hassle, so he decided to use his accrued leave rather than try to hang in and save it. In essence he got jobbed out of 6 weeks salary.

So there was a financial disincentive to quitting early, but eventually the pressure overcame the disincentive.

Make sense!

And it does show that both things can be true - it's more-or-less an orderly departure, but also more-or-less influenced by Trump's obstruction.

him having plenty of leave time to use. I work for the state and will hit the 20 year mark in April which will increase my allowed accrued vacation time to go from maxing out at 640 to 680 hours. When the time comes for me to retire I have the choice of being paid for my annual leave, having it added to my state version of a 401K or take part payout and part into the 401K.

Anything over that, you use or lose it in the year you accumulate it. At his years of service, he's getting 1 day of annual leave/pay period (every 2 wks). It adds up pretty fast and sometimes is hard to use.

and for those who do not believe that lie will resonate, just look at what the press did when Comey sent a letter to the republicans 11 days before the election. They media said the email investigation had been reopened, and paraded every republican and right wing politician across the television propagating that lie

Once again we had a coup and we have and had treason.

Fox and the GOP are trying to change the subject and sell the lie that
the Trump/Russia problem is really the fault of rouge agents in the FBI.
The walls are closing in on the Trump/GOP's Russian connections and
they know that this will take a lot of them down.

BTW we all have to get ready to fight.

I served 30 years in Federal Law Enforcement and rarely encountered any fellow progressives in the ranks. The FBI is especially conservative and hardcore Republican, but their personnel generally have decent morals and ethics. However, as with any organization there were some exceptions....

The Securities Exchange Commission, Labor, Equal Opportunity, housing, education, so many areas in which to do positive, helpful things.

The FBI does extremely important work, but liberals are more inclined to want to help their fellow citizens and to forward the interests of the citizens rather than arrest them.

Law enforcement would be rather depressing but intriguing I think.

I find this very alarming that we get into this mode of who you voted for in the government impacting your job.

If the GOP has there way, they would have GOP in all positions in government. They would have all GOP in judicial positions, Only GOP in the military, etc.

Can you see where this could go? GOP is certainly moving this direction.
