Top Democrat questions US meeting with Russian spy chiefs

Source: AP

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats want to know why the Trump administration allowed two Russian spy chiefs under U.S. and European sanctions to meet last week in Washington with American intelligence officials.

Russia’s U.S. ambassador said Sergei Naryshkin, head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, was in the United States to discuss counterterrorism with his American counterparts.

Naryshkin was accompanied at the meeting in Washington by Alexander Bortnikov, who directs the top KGB successor agency known as the Federal Security Service, according to two U.S. officials, who were not authorized to disclose the information and spoke on condition of anonymity.

...snip...

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the timing of the meeting is suspicious because it came just days before the Trump administration decided not to issue new sanctions against Russian politicians and oligarchs over Russian interference in the election. He released a letter early Thursday demanding that Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats disclose details of the meeting by Feb. 9.

The State Department was in on it, and I'm reaching the point where I believe that the DOD can no longer be trusted to defend this country or the Constitution!

The US military is in the process of being compromised, by Mattis and his underlings! Mattis is cut from the same cloth as Kelly, and like Kelly, his loyalty belongs to Trump!

I believe that the US military will not honor its oath to support and defend the Constitution, and that just like the German military will soon be swearing an oath of allegiance to Trump!

And for a little background, I am a veteran with 13 years of active duty service, and served in Operation Desert Storm.

How many of our current Generals would sell us out as quickly as Mattis, McMaster and Kelly did?

13. I do not believe such a meeting comes under the purview of the DOD.

It would be the responsibility of the Department of State and the intelligence agencies. It would be unconstitutional for the DOD to have anything to do with such a meeting.

Trump knows that communications with the Russians (you know, our enemies) could be intercepted so he wants face to face meetings to discuss how to obstruct Mueller and hide their collusion. Simple.

7. The collusion was instant as soon as the meeting took place as the spies are under sanctions!

and it gave me the opportunity to show him how Russia has always been our adversary. Younger people have no idea how repulsive and disconcerting it is to find out that Russian intelligence chiefs visited our country while being under sanctions especially after past and current cyber espionage activity. Let’s face it, republicans have no problem committing shocking acts of treason like Cheney outing Valerie Plame while she was a covert agent in the field for the CIA. Imagine that for a second. The party not of Lincoln but rather Benedict Arnold is a more appropriate description. Imagine Washington, Jefferson, Adams and Lincoln are rolling over in their graves.

under the RICO statues should Dems take control of Congress. Racketeering, Influence and Corrupt Organization is the only way to describe what is happening at present. Obstruction, conspiracy and treason are all predicate acts that can clearly take down these corrupt politicians and their foot soldiers who aid and abet their actions. When Dems win appoint Mueller or Preet Bhrarra as special counsel to root out and prosecute these criminals.
