Trump accuses FBI, DOJ leadership of favoring Democrats ahead of memo release
Source: CNN
(CNN)President Donald Trump positioned himself squarely against the leadership of the FBI and Department of Justice on Friday ahead of the possible release of a highly controversial Republican memo alleging the FBI abused its surveillance tools, claiming the government agencies "politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans."
Trump, by accusing the leadership of having a bias against Republicans, is once again maligning people he appointed to their roles, including FBI Director Christopher Wray, a man Trump nominated after he fired former FBI Director James Comey in May.
The tweet also puts Trump squarely on the side of Republican lawmakers who view the memo, which was penned by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes and approved for release by the House committee earlier this week, as a document that shows evidence of nefarious motives atop the FBI.
"The top Leadership and Investigators of the FBI and the Justice Department have politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans - something which would have been unthinkable just a short time ago," Trump wrote. "Rank & File are great people!"

(9,114 posts)I really think he should call them all into the Oval Office, onto the carpet. The FBI head and his top 2 aides. The Deputy head, and his top two aides, top Justice Dept people, Mueller and his top aides. Top counter intel people, and top Homeland Security and Secret Service, and Joint Chiefs.
He should call them all in, at the same time. They should be armed, and bring cuffs. Then he can tell them how he's really pissed off at them and they're a bunch of traitors who are trying to overthrow him in a coup.

(56,828 posts)are Republicans and Christopher Wray was appointed by Trump himself. So, Trump is saying the man he hand picked to lead the FBI is now against him a few months later?

(3,495 posts)This type of demonizing the Dems would have undermined any attempts to govern by the next administration. If you listen to staunch Repubs you get the feeling that under no circumstances would they allow a Democrat to govern effectively regardless of election results.
I'm beginning to feel like we need a divorce in this country. Abolish the electoral college and let's figure out who's paying the taxes and keep tax revenue's mostly local. Let the staunch Repub areas fend for themselves. They want low taxes then they get poor roads and poor educations systems, poor health-care systems and the poor economy that goes with them. Know this is rather harsh but you can't stay in an abusive relationship.

(391 posts)would crucify an FBI special agent or assistant US Atty who lied in that Court.
If the rethugs thought the system had truly abused all that would need to happen is to send the report to the Judge.
Anything other than that is rethug kabuki theater.
