Judiciary Dem: I suspect Nunes and White House coordinated on memo

The ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee says he believes the White House coordinated with Republicans on the production of a memo that is said to allege surveillance abuse by the Justice Department.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said that he thinks Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, worked with the Trump administration to produce the memo, which has been sharply criticized as inaccurate by both Democrats and the FBI.
"I don't know that, but I certainly suspect it, I suspect it because obviously of the prior history of Nunes working together with the White House," Nadler told CNN. "And because when asked whether his staff had coordinated with the White House, he wouldn't answer the question."
"So yes, I suspect that the White House had a hand in preparing this. The whole thing is a charade," Nadler said. "What you have is the president and these members of Congress being complicit in overturning considerations of national security by revealing information that the FBI says shouldn't be revealed."

If Nadler's assertion can be substantiated, then Nunes is on the chopping block

(7,432 posts)1. If Nadler's assertion can be substantiated, then Nunes is on the chopping block
for Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice. It's because his deeds were not restricted to the "business of the House." Once he wanders outside that stricture, he's fair game for Mueller. Nunes and Mueller know this. Nunes' efforts to protect Trumpy are likely predicated on 1. Monetary favors to Nunes, and 2. Trumpy's implied promise to pardon Nunes from any criminal convictions. However, those promises fall flat against the power of a "Conspiracy" to obstruct justice indictment because Trumpy is a co-conspirator, and can't pardon himself.

Ta-da.

(30,613 posts)5. That pretty much proves it, and puts Nunes in direct legal jeopardy.
That's called conspiring to obstruct justice. It immediately cancels his Congressional Privilege.
