President Donald Trump delivered brief remarks to reporters after declassifying the Rep. Devin Nunes memo, and referred to the FBI abuse alleged in the four-page document as disgraceful, adding that a lot of people should be ashamed of themselves, and much worse than that.
Trump also gave a coy answer to a question on whether he had confidence or if he was going to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. You figure that one out, he replied.
As far as what happens next, the president told reporters that Congress will do whatever they are going to do.
Whatever they do is fine, he continued. Lets see what happens.

(14,752 posts)The investigation will end. All evidence will be sealed forever. Any sealed indictments will be withdrawn. No indictments will happen.
Done.
Over.
The bastards win and congress will look the other way.
Sorry, I am in a dark place right now. It's NOT the memo. That is just political cover for firing rosenstein. It's realizing that 100% of the authority over the doj/fbi/sc rests with trump.
Screw state charges. They can't touch him while he is n office. And there is nothing to say he can't start a doj investigation of the ny ag's office. Don't put it past him.

(15,286 posts)of the DAs he could appt who are in the chain of succession would act any differently. With McCain now blasting the memo, there is no way Trump could even get a compliant nominee through the senate.

(14,752 posts)It's a position that requires senate approval. He can nominate anyone.
But more importantly, he can appoint an interim Deputy AG just by tapping anyone in his cabinet who has been confirmed by the senate. That's how munchen got his claws into the cfpb.
So he could just use his epa head, or interior, or hud..... They wouldn't even need to leave their existing post. They can do both jobs.
So yeah, he can destroy the investigation.
