Trump says memo release 'totally vindicates' him in Russia probe

President Trump took to Twitter Saturday to react to the release of a previously classified memo alleging abuse of government surveillance powers by the Justice Department, claiming the memo totally vindicates him and assailing the Russia investigation as an American disgrace.

The memo, released Friday, accuses senior Justice Department officials of improperly using information from the so-called Steele dossier to obtain surveillance warrants on Carter Page, a member of the Trump transition team and former Trump adviser.
Republicans have seized on the memos release, saying it proves the Justice Departments investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, led by special counsel Robert Mueller, is tainted by bias.

Trump touts Rasmussen poll showing 49 percent approval
BY MAX GREENWOOD - 02/03/18 10:00 AM EST
President Trump boasted about his latest approval rating in a conservative-leaning poll on Saturday, pointing to the number as evidence that his political support is expanding beyond what it was in the 2016 election.

The president's tweet referred to the Rasmussen's latest daily tracking poll, which marked his approval at 49 percent up from 45 percent on Feb. 1.
Obama, at the same time during his first year in office, had 50 percent approval in Rasmussen's poll.
The conservative-leaning Rasmussen poll routinely pegs Trump's approval on the higher end than other daily tracking polls. According to Gallup's latest data from Jan. 28, Trump's approval sat significantly lower at 38 percent.

(7,433 posts)So he'll use the Nunes memo as justification to fire Rosenstein, and he believes that Fox News is the center of the information world. So he'll do whatever Fox News tells him to do. What we now know, however, is Fox News is a counterintelligence investigation TARGET. It's suspected that Fox News is coordinating their editorial messages with Russian intelligence.
What Trumpy will find is that his bubble will hit a brick wall very soon now. He'll be either indicted or be referred to the House for impeachment. And his kids will also be indicted. When this happens, Trumpy will come unglued and thrash his authority around like an elephant in a china shop. He'll break everything he touches. That's when Congressional GOPers will have to fish or cut bait. That's when the GOP leadership will also be indicted on RICO charges, and the Congressional GOP rank and file will have no one left to lead them off a cliff.
The worst is yet to come.

I guess he also read in the memo that the FBI can't find any connection to the Russian meddling. You have to squint your eyes just right to see it.

Hey boys and girls the Stock Market dropped 666 points on the day the Trumpeter released the questionable Nunes Memo.
Coincidence?? The Book of Revelations, Chapter 13 tells us ( Attention Evangelicals !), that the number 666 warns us of the Antichrist, the Beast of Revelations.
For all that view the Bible as the literal word of God.......shouldn't you be afraid, very afraid???
Trumpster claims the memo absolves him of Collusion with the Russians ( yeah).
Ahha.....does Devine intervention tell us otherwise? Did Jesus Inc. send America a message via the Stock Market (spooky), linking Trump the Colluder with the number 666??
As I said, "Be Afraid, Very Afraid".

The Trump intrigues me. He's not quoting the memo. Could it be Faux and Fiends he is quoting, but how would I know?
Perhaps he is just an illiterate moron.

(8,138 posts)He's going down. It's like he's trying to get impeached. Every day is another insult to reason, common sense, dignity, competence, and honesty.
The main thing that keeps us from being a so-called banana republic is that our (allegedly) free and fair electoral system is supposed to keep us from having lunatics imposed on us. But once we elect someone, it is very hard to remove them. That's the way the system is designed. So when we make a mistake and elect a dangerous idiot, it's hard to get rid of him. But he is trying to get out of this job. Why else would he pick a fight with Gold Star parents? Not release his tax returns? Encourage white supremacists.
If you were trying to get fired this is exactly how you would act. Cheat on your wife, insult everybody, fail to appoint enough people to have a functioning government, wreck the economy,...
He's really stupid I think, but the deliberateness of his incompetence is too perfect to be an accident.
