Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannons testimony before the House Intelligence Committee has been postponed for at least a week amid ongoing negotiations over what topics lawmakers will be able to question him.
Bannon was scheduled to make a return trip to Capitol Hill at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, as lawmakers seek answers about Russian meddling in the 2016 election and whether President Trump's campaign officials had improper contacts with Moscow.
Bannon frustrated lawmakers from both parties at a previous interview in which he refused to answer questions about his time in the Trump administration, saying that the White House had claimed executive privilege.
Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas), who is leading the Intelligence Committees Russia probe, said negotiations are ongoing but that he expects Bannon will meet with lawmakers next week once these issues are ironed out.
