Trump Called Iraqi Officials 'Thieves' After Oval Office Visit

Source: Newsweek Magazine

BY JACK MOORE ON 2/9/18 AT 8:01 AM

U.S. relations with Iraq have undoubtedly worsened under President Donald Trump, not least when the country was added—although later removed—from his so-called travel ban on six Muslim majority countries last year.

And the latest revelations about Trump's private comments about Iraqi officials are unlikely to smooth things over: It has emerged that after an Iraqi delegation visited the president in the Oval Office last year, Trump described them “the most accomplished groups of thieves he’d ever met,” a former U.S. official told The Washington Post.

The comment was made in jest, the official said, but Trump appeared to suggest that the Iraqis had stolen from the U.S. Washington has given $1.7 billion in humanitarian assistance to Iraq since 2014 to help its war-ravaged infrastructure and economy.

It is not the first time that Trump has accused Iraqis of stealing from U.S. coffers. At a 2016 presidential campaign rally, he said: “Iraq, crooked as hell. How about bringing baskets of money—millions and millions of dollars—and handing it out?"

I don't know that from first hand knowledge, but if China invaded America and killed a million men, women and children, I certainly would call them murderers if I were still around to do so.

Just because we ruined their water systems, their roads, their schools,
their country, their homes and cities, farms, stolen their oil, and created
ISIS and now they need "humanitarian assistance?"

When does this madness stop?

The real reason he hates them, they won't pay the blood money he's trying to extort. He always accuses others of the things that he himself does, and this is just another instance of being pissed because Iraqi leaders won't steal the oil from their country and give it all to him or baby girl.

That's about all he ever does, because he lacks any understanding of what his job entails. We could have had comedy gold if journalists had been present who asked him to unpack that statement, and had they pressed him for details.
