Trump-appointed judge won't recuse from dossier case

Source: Politico

A federal judge appointed by President Donald Trump is refusing to step aside from a legal dispute related to the so-called dossier alleging links between Trump and Russia.

U.S. District Court Trevor McFadden turned down a request from the firm that commissioned the dossier, Fusion GPS, to recuse himself from an attempt by Russian entrepreneur Aleksej Gubarev to obtain information about the project.

Gubarev, whom the dossier accuses of illicit links to Russian President Vladimir Putin, is suing BuzzFeed for libel over its publication of the compilaton.

Fusion GPS sought to have the subpoena dispute reassigned because McFadden worked as an adviser on the Trump transition team and represented a firm linked to another Russian named in the dossier, Mikhail Fridman.

According to McFadden, "The President's connection with me and his interest in this case are simply too tenuous to cause a reasonable observer to question my impartiality."

Bullshit.

I'd advise McFadden to fuck off, immediately with his resignation, to avoid prison time that is awaiting for obstruction of justice.

"Elections have consequences" and, unfortunately, shamelessly partisan federal judicial appointments are sometimes one of them. Trump's appointments will embarrass and frustrate us for decades.

It is not a cause for the wild panic I'm seeing in the responses.

because he has a conflict of interest. If he won't recuse himself, he can, should, and must be forcibly recused from the case.

I wonder if every judge he's nominated wasn't first required to swear personal devotion and loyalty to drumpf and swear to protect him in any and every legal issue raised in their area and to never recuse themselves I'd put money on it from the way the orange assface complains so bitterly about the evil elf.

Judge is in the bag for the F'n MORON. Will do everything possible to delay, obfuscate, derail anything that could have a thread of link to WH or the F'n MORON. Will make some attempts to throw it out of court and may even do that (which is the biggest concern IMO). If it actually goes to a ruling a higher court will dismiss this judges findings for not stepping aside.
