And if I had to guess, I'd venture these new charges have something to do with the plea agreement he just got from Gates. Basically saying, "I've got Gates and everything I need to put you away for a long time. Now give me Trump or that's what I'm going to do!"

The fun part is that Mr Manafort is only one potential route into the Trump administration.

I'm wishing I worked for the Special Investigator. Oh, to be a fly on that wall.

Yeah, I think Trump is cooked even without Manafort. But I'm thinking that with Manafort, the whole dirty, rotten, lying swindling house is going to come down, and crashing down HARD.

Feb 2018

AP, via Sacramento Bee https://www.sacbee.com/news/business/article201753554.html

4:40 p.m.

Special counsel Robert Mueller is accusing President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman of secretly paying former European politicians to lobby on behalf of Ukraine.

The new allegation against Paul Manafort comes in a newly unsealed indictment made public Friday. The indictment followed a guilty plea by Manafort's longtime business associate, Rick Gates.

The indictment accuses Manafort of paying the former politicians, informally known as the "Hapsburg group," to appear to be "independent" analysts when in fact they were paid lobbyists. Some of the covert lobbying took place in the U.S.

The indictment says the group was managed by a former European chancellor. Court papers accuse Manafort of using offshore accounts to pay the group more than 2 million euros.

25. Former chancellor? "Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schrder nominated to Russia's Rosneft board"

Feb 2018
A friend of the Russian president, former German Chancellor Schröder has been working for the Russian energy industry since he lost to Chancellor Merkel in 2005. Rosneft has been hit by Western sanctions.

A Russian government decree published late on Friday night nominated former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to join the board of the Russian energy giant Rosneft. The company is majority-owned by the Russian government and has its headquarters near the Kremlin in Moscow.

Schröder was nominated as a non-executive director of Rosneft as part of the company's plans to increase the number of board directors from nine to 11. His name was one of seven presented in the decree signed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and published on the Russian government's website.

Rosneft is the world’s largest publicly traded petroleum company and is headed by Igor Sechin, an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who served as deputy prime minister until 2012. The company has been hit by Western sanctions following Russia's annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region and its support for pro-Russia separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Schröder has publicly opposed the sanctions placed on Rosneft.

Though NBC notes:

The term chancellor is used in only a small number of countries, including Germany and Austria. The Associated Press reported last year that Mercury LLC, which was involved in the Manafort lobbying effort, employed former Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer as an expert. He could not immediately be reached for comment.

It's just now that we're seeing that Trump was literally elected as a puppet. When it comes out that he was compromised it will be clear he is unable to fulfill his duties as President.

in a bunch of cooperating nations that Russia's been making the same kind of war on. This would undoubtedly involve seizing assets purchased with stolen and laundered fortunes.

Foreign governments have been trying to deal with this occult warfare with varying degrees of success for a long time now.

Question: We know foreign governments are helping us. Has, or how much has, bringing us into this war started substantially helping them? Do we have an international critical mass yet?

Consider the possibility that Mueller has everything he needs.

That he's releasing these new indictments one after another.

Each one, he well.. he was giving a few days for the media to look through them, stew and chew 'em and then regurgitate it to their listeners.

Russians, money laundering, now bribery.

I think these indictments are going to keep getting released at a drip-drip pace until everything is tied together in a way that many americans will have followed.

(the alternative.. everything coming in one big boom... would have been whitewashed and smoothed over by the republicans way too easily... but the drip drip drip... keeps people riveted and every time they cover for one thing they get exposed to the next)

It's just a thought.. and likely completely wrong. But thought it was worth sharing.

Heard on the news that Gates flipping is a big deal, since he can add to Manafort's woes. Gates has evidence against Manafort, of course. They were partners in crime.
