'Everything is on the table' for Trump's testimony before Mueller: report

Source: The Hill

BY BRETT SAMUELS - 02/25/18 01:24 PM EST

President Trump’s lawyers are weighing options for his testimony before special counsel Robert Mueller.

“Everything is on the table,” The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday, citing a source close to the president's legal team.

Trump has expressed a willingness to testify before Mueller in the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The president, who has railed against the Russia investigation and called it a "witch hunt," said he’d be willing to speak “under oath,” but his lawyers have clarified that the details of any potential interview are still being worked out. Trump’s legal team is reportedly considering the possibility of providing written answers, having the president give limited verbal testimony or other options.

Mueller reportedly wants to question Trump on his decisions to fire former FBI Director James Comey and former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

16. He can try, but the precedent is set

SCOTUS spoke to this with Nixon's tapes and the Paula Jones lawsuit.

The President's generalized assertion of privilege must yield to the demonstrated, specific need for evidence in a pending criminal trial and the fundamental demands of due process of law in the fair administration of criminal justice,

With the current make up of the court, I doubt they'll change that precedent. So, in the end, his only option is the 5th Amendment, which is really just a public admission of guilt. At least, that's my understanding.

but just like what you saw happen with Bannon, he would do the same to stall and force them to take each legal step to get some kind of testimony.

And the issue with Bannon was also regarding claiming "Executive Privilege" for stuff that happened during the "transition" timeframe.

and running the Clock. This is his M O, nothing new,and when push comes to shove,he will bail. It is all about his Image and His money.

He is smart stupid,he will never sit with Mueller unless ordered by a Grand Jury.

BTW,did Trump pay the 25 million yet for his fake School? Notice how he is running that clock.

No take home test. In person. Under oath. So as to more easily perjure himself. Mueller team will agree to nothing short of that.

20. There are plenty of that kind of question

My first question is a modified form of the question lots of people were asked by the House Un-American Activities Committee during the McCarthy scandal. What they were really asked was if they'd ever been a member of the Communist Party.

My second is the question that finally brought McCarthy down.

We are up against a huge problem: Trump has a large and extremely vicious fan base. The only way we are ever going to be allowed to completely lay out what an atrocious person Trump really is, is to destroy him in the eyes of his supporters. His sexual predation won't work; they probably think he's a superstud and to them a guy who gets lots of sex is a hero. His total ineptitude in business hasn't worked so far. The guy is a crappy landlord with a great PR team. That's all he is. All his fans HATE their landlords, so FSM only knows why they love Trump. There is one thing I think WILL work to cut him down, and that's to prove his "patriotism" is a lie.

Once we turn the guy into a shell of his former self - and Mr. Mueller is doing that even as we speak - the whole sordid truth of his hideousness will emerge.

I knew that you were referring to the McCarthy Hearings with your questions.

I agree with all you stated, and it's not only his ignorant, racist "fan base"..but also,
(and probably more important) it's Eddie Munster, The Turtle, and the GOP-controlled Congress who don't give a rat's ass about him being despicable, because he got their big tax scam passed, and he got an ultra-right-wing asshole to tip the SCOTUS to a 5-4 GOP majority, too.

The thing that bothers me most about Shitler's alleged rape of that young girl back in the early 1990s, at one of Jeffrey Epstein's "Lolita' parties, is that HE GOT AWAY WITH IT.

It just doesn't seem to matter what the hell he does, he always gets away with it.

[I hope that Mueller eventually "nails the bastard"]
