Mexican-American judge that Trump attacked rules in favor of border wall

The judge who President Trump once attacked for his Mexican heritage has ruled in favor of the administration in a lawsuit attempting to block Trump's promised wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel, whose parents emigrated from Mexico, ruled Tuesday against a legal challenge to the wall over environment waivers granted by the Department of Homeland Security to build the wall. The ruling means that the administration will be able to continue waiving the regulations to build barriers on the border.
Trump had targeted Curiel during the 2016 presidential election, claiming that the judge might be biased against him in a lawsuit over Trump University because of Curiel's Mexican heritage.
Curiel wrote in his ruling that he did not have serious constitutional doubts about the administrations use of the waivers. In its review of this case, the court cannot and does not consider whether underlying decisions to construct the border barriers are politically wise or prudent, he also wrote.
