Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R) was torn apart on live TV last week during a CNN town hall with Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivors, and it appears voters were paying attention. In a new Quinnipiac Poll conducted in the days immediately following the town hall, between Feb. 23-26, Rubio held an approval rating of just 38 percent, with 53 percent disapproving of his job in office.
The numbers mark Rubio's lowest approval rating since he joined the Senate in 2011. "Democrats hate every fiber of his being," explains the Miami New Times, "but he's also relatively unpopular amid the far-right Breitbart/Steve Bannon/conspiratorial loon crowd, which hates him for the few centrist stances he's taken in his short career."
With apparently nothing to lose, Rubio slammed teenagers in a tweet Wednesday. "Trashing the Parkland kids like this is probably not going to help those numbers," observed Democratic consultant Brian Fallon...............................

"infected the next generation"
Marco Rubio insults the Florida students who are angry about being shot at with an AR-15 which Rubio made sure the mass murderer could buy very easily.

Actually Marco you and the GoP are the infection. The kids are the antidote.
I think what most impresses me is their inherent understanding of the bad faith of GoP politics. They grasp the corruption in a way older voters just don't.

What an absolutely horrible, cynical thing to tweet. This is the opposite of leadership.

(1,968 posts)It's unfortunate that he was so recently re-elected.
This will make him look bad for awhile, then folks will forget.
Though this could still create problems for him if he were to run for just about anything in the future
Rubio is terrible when pressured. Look how badly he did when pressured by trump and christie
Anyone who decides to run against should take notice of this and just hit him hard because he is really bad at handling it

(10,271 posts)I get that the Constitution requires that SOMEBODY has to have that job, but holy baby jezus in the manger when did it get written that what most qualifies you for that job is the idea that YOU, and ONLY you can do it, and everybody else is a fucking idiot and shouldnt be listened to? Congressional Salaries should equate to an expense account for travel, lodging, etc., and then an amount equal to the AVERAGE reported income in your district, minus the top 15% of wage earners/Rich Fucks. These guys get paid way too well for what they are ACTUALLY doing...

(129,020 posts)so he doesn't really care. He should have been voted out after he had resigned when running for President and then decided to slink back in to run again.... And Florida gave him another 6 years.
