Warner: March for Our Lives was 'democracy in action'

Source: The HILL

.
Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) on Sunday hailed nationwide rallies against gun violence a day earlier as "democracy in action," saying that students protesters had lent momentum to calls for stricter gun control laws.

"I think this time it’s going to be different. I think their demand for sensible gun control, I think we can actually get it done,” Warner said on CBS's "Face the Nation." "I really think it was democracy in action, not just in Washington, but all across the country yesterday."

Warner's comments came a day after hundreds of thousands of protesters, led by students, gathered in cities across the country to demand an end to gun violence.

Warner also said on Sunday that a walkout being planned by students next month was "appropriate," and urged students to register to vote.

UM, no. It's called "managed democracy." Real democracy requires clean elections. PSPS Mar 2018 #1

Fuck Warner, he needs to retire so blue Virginia can hire a full-time Democratic senator.

Think it was Colbert, doing the same 'style' (i.e. a lot obvious silliness and joking and giving the interviewee a chance to be interesting and/or funny) as he did for years on Daily Show, and Warner sat there as befuddled-looking as the people being interviewed on Daily Show when it first started, where so often they completely failed to pick up on the 'schtick' that was going on with the interviewer.

How does a prominent Dem, this far into Colbert's illustrious career, not know what to expect from a Colbert interview?
