Republican group airs ad on 'Fox & Friends' defending Mueller probe

Source: The Hill

BY MORGAN GSTALTER - 04/11/18 08:34 AM EDT

A Republican group defended special counsel Robert Mueller against attacks by President Trump in an ad that aired Wednesday morning on “Fox & Friends” — a show that Trump is said to frequently watch.

The 30-second ad from Republicans for Rule of Law highlights Mueller’s military service in Vietnam and his service as head of the FBI during the Bush administration.

“Mueller has been trusted by Republicans to put America first,” the ad says.

It also shows congressional leaders Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wi.) supporting the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

He already knew Ryan was bowing out of the November elections. McConnell isn't up for re-election in November, but if the Senate GOP loses their majority - and it could happen - then he's no longer the majority leader of the Senate. The job would go to a Democrat, probably Schumer or maybe someone else.

Secondly the GOP leadership of the House is seriously in doubt now that Ryan is leaving. How many seats will the GOP lose? It's starting to look like a landslide after all these special election wins for the Dems so far this year. Every chance a Dem has to take a GOP seat, it's been another win for us. By November it's going to look like a tsunami of blue.

Everything changes when the Dems take Congress back.

I'll never forget listening to LA disc jockey Jim Ladd, live from Berlin, at The Wall concert they did. It felt so historic. With the damn Cold War over, such hope for the future...

I gotta admit I didn't put the song with your quote, but 'I've got Billie on the line' reminded me instantly of that album.

Can't believe reading those lyrics 'on paper' ... didn't come with Rog's voice in my head.

I saw him on that tour ... he never took off his shades lol ...

Jim Ladd was a long time favorite of many of us in LA for a long time, it was so cool he lent his voice to Water's album.

I read his book too, on the history of FM radio.
It was quite fascinating.

Cheers mon.

From what I have caught on Twitter, they seem like Eisenhower republicans who might be able to influence Congress. I'm keeping hope alive. On life support, but still breathing.

the dark money people who've taken over the Republican Party. The wannabe kleptocrats had to destroy traditional conservatism as a power in the GOP in order to turn the voters to support of their extremism. A lot of the crazies they created were (are) traditional cons by nature, knee-jerk resisters of change, before they were sluiced down the rabbit hole.

This may be a message whose time has come. If I were a con, I'd be looking for an intellectual and moral lifeline.
