Prominent Alabama evangelist arrested on child sex charges

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama youth evangelist has been arrested on child sex charges.

Media outlets report that police in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover arrested 37-year-old Paul Edward Acton Bowen of Southside on multiple charges involving a boy between the ages of 12 and 16.

Police Capt. Gregg Rector calls the case "disturbing" because of the man's position with Acton Bowen Outreach. Bowen is a public speaker who has written three books for sale online.

Records show Bowen was freed on bond early Wednesday.

ALABAMA EVANGELIST CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEEN BOY

HOOVER, Ala. — An Alabama evangelist, public speaker and author was arrested Tuesday, accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy.
Paul Edward Acton Bowen, 37, of Southside, was booked on charges of sodomy, sexual abuse and enticing a child for immoral purposes, according to Jefferson County Jail records. He was released early Wednesday morning on $90,300 bail.

Bowen is the founder of Acton Bowen Outreach. The ministry’s website -- which was temporarily removed by 9 a.m. Wednesday -- described Bowen as a cohost of Top3 on the Juce TV Network and a regular contributor on Fox News, where he serves as a faith and religion correspondent.

The Gadsden Times reported in 2012 that Bowen, who spent seven years on staff at a church there before starting his ministry, was headed to London to be a chaplain at the Summer Olympics.

sex abuse? If any industry is in dire need of more strenuous regulations, transparency and oversight, is is the Bible Biz. It's toxic icing on the moldy cake that this perv is "a regular contributor on Fox News.".

It’s not a bug but a feature in religious and political leaders (often they are both).
Religious figures have used sexual assault to control and manipulate everything from kingdoms to individuals throughout time. Ancient kings and the current president and especially religious leaders often see it as their divine right, given to them by their god, to sexually use and abuse anyone they want.
Every religious organization, from the Catholic Church to obscure cults, have manipulated people for sexual gain. It’s as common a occurrence as rain.

I wonder if he was one of Trump's "must watch" Fox personalities? Fox is Little Donnie's 'window on the world' so I'm guessing he's Little Donnie's "spiritual advisor". Little wonder why Trump's moral compass seems to lack direction.
