UPDATE: 'Untruthful slime ball': Trump blasts Comey as details emerge from scathing book

President Trump on Friday lashed out at former FBI director James B. Comey on Twitter, calling him an “untruthful slime ball” who deserved to be fired “for the terrible job he did.”

“It was my great honor to fire James Comey!” Trump wrote in his first remarks since the release of Comey’s book that includes blistering descriptions of Trump and his presidency.

In a pair of tweets, Trump accused Comey of leaking classified information and lying to Congress under oath. And Trump said Comey’s his handling of an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state would “go down as one of the worst ‘botch jobs’ of history.” Trump fired Comey in May 2017 in an act that has been under scrutiny by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III.

Trump’s tirade came in response to news stories Thursday on leaked copies of “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership,” a 304-page tell-all by Comey that describes Trump’s presidency as a “forest fire” and portrays the president as an ego-driven congenital liar.

In a pair of tweets, President Trump accused James B. Comey of leaking classified information and lying to Congress under oath. Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR, and someone who everyone in Washington thought should be fired for the terrible job he did, Trump tweeted.

He also wrote: It was my great honor to fire James Comey!

Sessions, Kushner, Pruitt, lied several times on applications for security which is a crime. Flynn, Manafort, Gates, Papadapolous all have been charged or actually convicted of lying so Comey fit right in, but the others never stopped lying for drumpf while Comey did and that's why he was fired. Comey's actions at the end of the election with HRC are despicable and he should pay a steep price for that - however, his actions with drumpf seem above reproach and I'm glad he finally got his integrity back.

We need to be rid of trump, just as soon as possible. Even if it means making common cause with Jim Comey, after the hatchet job he did on Hillary's campaign.

As the full extent of Trump and his administrations corruption becomes even more apparent and Trump is either impeached or resigns and Dems take over Congressional oversight, Fox will bleed viewers until only the most extremist nut-job viewers remain. Fox will have to move to the middle to survive in a post Trump era and the reality of the new nut job in town Sinclair. Dems must aggressively go after media companies like Fox and Sinclair and reintroduce ownership regulations again. The snap back from the Trump era will be profound as more women and moderates take control of Congress and address the systemic problems of media ownership, campaign finance, and gerrymandering.
