Cohen doubles down on claim he's never been to Prague after Mueller report

Source: The Hill

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 04/14/18 12:08 PM EDT

President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen on Saturday responded to a report that special counsel Robert Mueller has evidence that Cohen went to Prague during the 2016 election, slamming it as “bad reporting.”

McClatchy reported Friday that Mueller has evidence that Cohen traveled to Prague in the summer of 2016, a claim first made in the so-called "Steele dossier" compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.

The document alleged that Cohen had secretly traveled to Prague during the 2016 campaign and met with a prominent ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, purportedly Konstantin Kosachev.

It’s not clear whether Mueller has evidence of such a meeting.

Drove in from Germany, flew out of Paris. I was pissed because I wanted that stamp, LOL.

But there is plenty of other evidence I was in France.

The story says that the FBI has evidence that he was in Prague ''in August or early September 2016''.

So, was he in LA for every day of those six or seven weeks and has he shown that he was?

LA does of course have an international airport.

beginning with a Cohen piece that included:

Sater is cooperating with Mueller’s investigation and provided more than six hours of closed-door testimony on Wednesday to the Senate Intelligence Committee”

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-world/national/article208090764.html.

It was SOOO casually stated, and no one else has confirmed that Sater has FLIPPED.

Then on Wednesday, they reported this Pompeo story - and all references to it refer back to McClatchy article:

April 11, 2018 05:55 PM
WASHINGTON

CIA Director Mike Pompeo failed to disclose last year that he owned a Kansas business that imported oilfield equipment from a company owned by the Chinese government.

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-world/national/article208630194.html

...and when I saw this morning that Mr. Wittes is standing by for confirmation, I said whewww, it ain’t just me!!

But I DO hope all reports are eventually proven true!!!!!!!

There was a time when Sater served as a confidential informant for the FBI. The man who oversaw Sater's cooperation was Andrew Weissman although he was not Sater's day-to-day handler, for lack of a better term. Sater and Cohen grew up together and have been friends for years. Sater would probably know if Cohen had been in Prague, but no one knows if Sater is helping Mueller's team or not.

Josh Marshall over at TPM has been writing about Sater for the past year or so.

I thought, cheeze, shouldn’t this guy be in hiding on an island somewhere, either from fellow mobsters or Mr. Mueller - ??

As usual, we’ll stay tuned, but I hope to someday know what his deal is, truly

Stations have numerous video cameras. Easy-peasy!

The second is a bit more intriguing. It's a cell phone tower trace, GPS and all. Even if he purchased a burner phone here or in Germany before crossing the border, it can be traced albeit then one must a few other things...info I won't share here. But, think of the undercover agents that have busted a number of drug cartel kingpins.......

Two times going into Czechia I have been on buses and received no stamp. Driving into the Czech Republic once at a small border crossing from the Bavarian Forest the customs guard looked at my passport (US) and was waving me on without stamping it. That time I wanted it stamped just for the memory and there were no cars behind me so he did take a moment to stamp it for me. 26 European countries that have signed on to the Schengen Agreement have eliminated passport control at their mutual borders. It appears to apply to US passport holders also, once they have entered the Schengen area from the US.

But Cohen contradicted a statement he'd previously made with the denial Friday.

He told The Wall Street Journal in January 2017, that had visited Prague at least once, in 2001.
