Nikki Haley Hits Back At White House: I Dont Get Confused
Source: Huffington Post
Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, sharply responded to the suggestion that she was confused when she said that President Donald Trumps administration would be imposing more sanctions on Russia.
With all due respect, I dont get confused, the ambassador said in a statement to Fox News Dana Perino, who read the comment during her Tuesday show.
Haley was responding specifically to Trumps newly appointed economic adviser Larry Kudlow, who said earlier on Tuesday that the ambassador got ahead of the curve when she told CBSs Face the Nation on Sunday that Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin would announce additional sanctions on Russia for supporting Syrian dictator Bashar Assad.
There might have been some momentary confusion about that, Kudlow told reporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, a day after reports surfaced that Trump had reversed his position on imposing sanctions. The reversal surprised fellow Republicans and seemed to clearly undermine Haley.

(13,870 posts)She was my Gov for 6 years.
Very ambitious, clearly plans to go for the top job at some point.
As President, she would be a smart and competent pusher of a far-right agenda, including most of Trumps populist bullshit.
That is a scary thought.

(1,227 posts)she reminds me of Colin Powell. Just a little bit. I think it's the "I ain't your bitch" routine. I'm not too familliar with her politics, but it seems like she toes only her line.
But, then again, I only read what is fed to me when I have time to dine on it.

(89,249 posts)Haley is not very smart and mostly about her personal ambitions.
As I mentioned, I'm largely naivé to Haley and what she's stepping-in. I can buy your analysis that she's politically defiant with respect to the current administrations policies to measure her own ends.
But I kinda like that she doesn't seem to have a problem openly pissing the Ivory Tower off.
The crux is her character, which I, as I said, possess a vacancy of knowledge.
It's easily conceivable that she's in a position to both feint political independence and simultaneously monopolize on her own agenda.

They'll ultimately go with whatever is bad for the people and good for their cronies.
