Michael Flynn tests 'comeback tour'

Source: Politico

Hailed by Trump allies as a victim of Mueller overreach, Trump's fired national security adviser makes speaking appearances.

NEW YORK – Michael Flynn may be headed to prison for lying to the FBI, but for now he’s enjoying his freedom.

Donald Trump’s former national security adviser appeared onstage to endorse a Republican congressional candidate last month and on Thursday hopped an Amtrak train to Manhattan for what conservative organizers billed as an invitation-only “no holds barred” foreign policy speech.

The private appearance at an event hosted by the London Center for Policy Research was the latest evidence that Flynn, disgraced in the eyes of many former admirers, has become something of a celebrity among Trump supporters who see him not as a villain but as a victim of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.

“I’m doing great,” Flynn told a POLITICO reporter Thursday as he was exiting midtown’s Union League Club before rejecting questions, including about what he discussed inside. “I don’t want to talk to you,” he said. “You should work for TMZ instead of POLITICO. You’re like paparazzi.”

He will already have been deposed, and he couldn't refuse to testify in court, and can't take the 5th if he's been pardoned. Trump might still do it, but it would be a stupid waste of a pardon. He needs to pardon someone who hasn't already spilled the beans, and could be counted on to keep mouth shut after the pardon and commit perjury.

That might be the kids, but I'm not sure if anyone else would stay quiet after a pardon (why, after all, risk a perjury charge?).

Going back to Watergate-- I think only the nutcase G Gordon Liddy actually didn't end up telling all.

How long after your guilty plea or conviction would you be allowed to stay out, make money, cross the country, waltz in and out of the jurisdiction?

(Ten minutes?)

and I've seen a few judges simply remand a defendant on the spot during pre-trial or a status hearing.

Avoid making bad decisions in Monterey County, CA.

If he, you know, reneges.
