Gretchen Carlson, a #MeToo trailblazer, will make TV return
Source: Politico
Gretchen Carlson, the former Fox News host, is returning to TV.
Carlson will create and host a new series of documentary specials on A&E Networks, the company announced on Monday. The move marks her first television venture since leaving Fox News in 2016 after accusing Roger Ailes, the networks chairman at the time, of sexual harassment.
It has now been confirmed that our voices are amplified and actually get heard when we stand together, and I am proud to partner with Lifetime to make change happen by presenting the heartbreaking, but previously untold, stories of everyday working women, Carlson said in a statement. We need to shine a light on the predators and their enablers, rather than ostracizing and blacklisting the innocent victims whose dreams and careers have been destroyed. Im grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with A&E Networks on this important project.
The Lifetime channel is part of Lifetime Entertainment Services, a subsidiary of A&E.

Am I correct that she never called out Fox's political bias?

(15,391 posts)I'm sorry she was harassed, and I'm glad she won her lawsuit against FOX, but I find it difficult to believe that she didn't know what the atmosphere at FOX was and didn't say anything until it happened to her... Mainly because that's how conservatives operate. "Boo on the gays!." Years later... "I, as a parent of a gay son, cannot support my party's actions when it comes to issues of sexuality..." Etc.

(18 posts)It's hard to respect Gretchen Carlson as I remember all the years when she was so comfortable and enthusiastic to participate in the Fox lie machine about President Obama. She made a lot of money on Fox and Friends, and then finally decided to capitalize on accusing Ailes of misconduct. Now she's an ardent "Me Two" crusader. Rings hollow to me.

(37,428 posts)She was for many years an advocate for rich white men doing whatever the fuck they want to us, so I'll be over here not exactly celebrating her return to the corporate teat.
