US warns staff in China: Beware of unusual sounds

Source: BBC

The US state department has urged its staff in China to alert them to any abnormal hearing or vision issues after one employee reported mystery symptoms.

The person experienced "subtle and vague, but abnormal, sensations of sound and pressure", it said.

The US previously said its diplomats in Cuba had suffered similar symptoms after suspected sonic attacks.

An embassy spokesperson told US media the employee suffered a mild traumatic brain injury while working at the US consulate in the city of Guangzhou.

I can't work out if it's paranoia, mass hallucination, hypochondria, or a genuine weapon someone has.

It clearly says: "The US previously said its diplomats in Cuba had suffered similar symptoms after suspected sonic attacks. "

in an area, they tend to compete with each other power wise, each unit upping its output. People are probably being blasted by UHF or higher frequencies which can cause all kinds of side effects.

A U.S. government employee in southern China suffered a brain injury after reporting strange "sensations of sound and pressure,” - a strikingly similar account to what American personnel experienced in recent years in Cuba, State Department officials said on Wednesday.

In a health alert to American citizens in China posted online Wednesday, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in China said an employee stationed in the sprawling port city of Guangzhou had "recently reported subtle and vague, but abnormal, sensations of sound and pressure." The cause of the reported symptoms remains unknown.

"The U.S. government is taking these reports seriously and has informed its official staff in China of this event," the U.S. Embassy said in the alert.

"We do not currently know what caused the reported symptoms and we are not aware of any similar situations in China, either inside or outside of the diplomatic community."

They're more likely to believe in aliens. John Bolton, of course, wants it to be nefarious acts by someone he can attack with the full force and might of the US military.

16. What would Cuba gain from playing sadistic games? Another invasion? A worse embargo?

Not a reason in the world a small nation like Cuba would even consider trying to get on the even worse side of the US which has been bullying it for every year since 1959. That just wouldn't happen.

They want relations to IMPROVE. It's the US right-wing supporters of hostilities toward Cuba who would gain from increased tensions.

BEIJING (AP) — No explanation has yet been found for a U.S. government employee's report of abnormal sensations of sound and pressure, China said Thursday, as the incident in southern Guangzhou city recalled the experiences of illness-stricken American diplomats in Cuba.

"China is already conducting a careful investigation, and we have already given the U.S. preliminary feedback," Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said during a regular news briefing.

"At this point, we have not yet found any reason or clue leading to the situation described by the U.S.," Lu said, adding that China adheres to the Vienna Convention on protecting foreign diplomats.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday that when the U.S. informed China of the incident in Guangzhou, "They said all the right things and have demonstrated their willingness to help us identify the vector which led to this medical incident."
