Putin says 'fierce' U.S. politics hindering summit with Trump

VIENNA (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed political ructions in the United States for difficulties in arranging a summit with President Donald Trump, in remarks broadcast on Monday.

Trump said in March the two leaders would meet soon. But since then already fragile ties between Washington and Moscow have been strained further by the conflict in Syria and the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain. Putin said last month the proposed summit was beset by problems and was not working out for now.

Asked by Austrian broadcaster ORF why it was taking so long to arrange, he said: “You have to ask our colleagues in the USA. In my view it is the consequence of the fierce domestic political contest in the United States.”

Putin, who gave ORF an interview ahead of a visit to Austria on Tuesday, did not elaborate.

easier, once tRump and the gop convert every voter to the Russian model. We all must worship our "esteemed leader for life" Then, and only then will Russia and the USA be "equals". I am certain that Vlad is tutoring his puppet about the joys of being supreme leader of a country of robots. For a short man, Putin has a very large ego, almost as large as orange ass in the WH. Hard to find a venue large enough for these two oversized self worshiping goons.

I think Putin views himself as Peter the Great reincarnated. He thinks he's making Russia respected again on the world stage after the shameful collapse of the Soviet Union. He's willing to do anything and kill anyone to bring that dream to fruition.

The main difference between Putin and Trump is that Putin is actually competent. Trump is frighteningly inept, and even more terrifying, he surrounds himself with people who tell him how wonderful he is.

two "world leaders" playing Trump and the list will get longer. Trump may end up having a summit with himself.

Our democracy is intact and has foiled Pootie's plans for shenanigans with Trump.
