WH: 'Thankfully' No Need For A Pardon Because Trump 'Hasn't Done Anything Wrong'

The White House on Monday backed up President Donald Trumps claims that he could pardon himself if he wanted to, but said that it wont be necessary because Trump hasnt done anything wrong.
Thankfully the President hasnt done anything wrong and wouldnt have any need for a pardon, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday. When asked again about the Presidents cryptic Monday morning tweets, Sanders repeated the same line.

When asked why Trump believes special counsel Robert Muellers work is unconstitutional, Sanders said Trump just knows the special counsel isnt needed.
Scholars have raised a number of questions about the legality of the special counsel process, she said. The President has made his views about the special counsel very clear, and the President knows that the special counsel isnt needed because once again he hasnt done anything wrong. There was no obstruction, no collusion, and no wrongdoing. However, we continue to cooperate.

WH Refuses Questions On Statement Trump Dictated About Sons Meeting
By Matt Shuham | June 4, 2018 3:35 pm
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday refused to answer questions about a recently revealed letter from Trumps legal team to Robert Mueller establishing that she lied to the American people.
The lawyers claimed in the January letter that President Donald Trump did in fact dictate his sons misleading statement to the New York Times in July of last year regarding a campaign-era meeting with Russians promising dirt on Hillary Clinton. Sanders, as well as one of the letters authors, Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow, claimed last year that Trump did not dictate the statement.
This is from a letter from the outside counsel, and I direct you to them to answer that question, Sanders told reporters regarding the letter at a press briefing Monday.
Sekulow and John Dowd, who has since left Trumps legal team, wrote to Special Counsel Robert Mueller in January that the President dictated a short but accurate response to the New York Times article on behalf of his son, Donald Trump, Jr. The New York Times published the letter Saturday.

(24,303 posts)that would be a reason to pardon himself?
The art of the follow-up question is dead among today's so-called journalists.

Because you were there?
Vapid statement, no follow-up questions to put this lying, obfuscating enabler in her place.

(19,204 posts)Apparently Trump thinks he can be his own Judge Judy and Executioner (from the movie 'Hot Fuzz' with Simon Pegg).
The water buffalo in pearls has to know she's lying through her teeth, so why does she continue to do it? I'm sure she'll write a 'tell all' book after she's been put out to pasture, in which she'll swear she thought she was telling the truth!
The lies cascading from this administration have reached a point where hardly anyone believes them anymore (save the Trump cult). Honest Republicans can't even sink that low anymore (and yes, there are a few left).
