Source: The Daily Beast
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, the Donald Trump favorite who is already the subject of multiple ethics investigations, ordered his agency staff to help his daughter get an internship at the White House and leveraged his status to get the former speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates to write a letter to the University of Virginia School of Law in support of his daughters admission there, The New York Times reports. Aides told the Times that Pruitt told them that he expected a certain standard of living akin to wealthier Trump Cabinet members. The aides felt as if Mr. Pruittwho is paid about $180,000 a yearsaw them as foot soldiers in achieving that lifestyle. One told the Times he had a clear sense of entitlement,The report also states that Pruitt got Rose Bowl tickets at face value with the help of energy-industry executives days before the eventa time when tickets were going for seven times that amount on secondary markets. Pruitts spokesperson denied any wrongdoing. His daughter served as a White House intern during the summer of 2017.

I wish that the OK State Auditor and AG would conduct a full investigation of Pruitt's time in State Government. I cannot even imagine the extent of corruption that he was involved in when he was here. Of course, being a Rethug controlled state, they will cover for him.

(20,204 posts)Why would he expect that? The highest position he held before coming to DC was as the Attorney General of OK and I doubt that paid $180K. His net worth, at $400K, is less than 10% of most other members of Trump's inner circle. Why did he think he would get to live large WHILE HE WAS A PUBLIC SERVANT?

(22,756 posts)don't think of it as Public Servant... think of it as 'Royal Cabinet Member'

McKenna Pruitt (Photo via LinkedIn)
Tiffany Trump and Audrey Pence arent the only daughters of Trump administration officials who are first-year students at top law schools.
Meet McKenna Pruitt, a 1L at the University of Virginia School of Law. You may recognize her last name, because shes the daughter of Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt. Following the rollback of 67 environmental safeguards, her father earned himself a role as the most dangerous member of Trumps cabinet.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Pruitt is a 2017 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where she was a cheerleader, a member of the Young Republicans Club, and a sister of Kappa Alpha Theta (me too!). Just prior to her arrival at UVA Law, Pruitt served as a law clerk with the White House Counsels Office. Her UVA classmates say Pruitt mostly keeps to herself and puts in long hours in the library.
When will all of these Trump administration 1Ls get together and form a study group? With the presumably brilliant minds that landed them at Yale, UVA, and Georgetown, we imagine that theyd be able to create one hell of a spectacular outline.
