The Supreme Court has ruled that within 100 miles of the Border the Border Patrol can set up stop points and ask motorists, pedestrians and passengers on public conveyance a simple question "Are you citizens of the US".

At that point people can choose not to answer (in which the Border Patrol Agent would have to have other probable cause to detain for further investigation), or respond that they were citizens, or tourists, or permanent residents.

The bus driver was the one in error. Anyone can, of course, get on a bus if they pay for the ticket. Greyhound, and all public transport have to follow lawful orders given by law enforcement.

And, presumably, cannot stay in a Trump hotel. Does this just apply to Canadians since this happened in Maine? Trump must be really pissed at PM JT.
