Protesters Greet Vice President Pence In Philly During GOP Fundraiser

Source: CBS3

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS/AP) — Vice President Mike Pence was greeted by protesters in Philadelphia while he was in town for a fundraiser with Republican nominee for Pennsylvania governor Scott Wagner. Tuesday night’s event was held at the Rittenhouse Hotel and benefited the Republican Governors Association. The association did not release details on how many people attended the private event or how much they are paying to get in. Wagner is challenging the re-election bid by Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf, who began June with a nearly 10-to-1 cash advantage. Wagner spent heavily to win a three-way Republican primary last month. Wolf had no primary opponent.

Across the street from the hotel, protesters gathered to send a message to the vice president in the wake of an immigration crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, where migrant children are being separated from their parents under a zero-tolerance policy. Children’s shoes were scattered across the pavement to spell the word “no,” representing the children being separated from their families.

“I think its an awful awful thing that has absolutely no reason for it can’t be justified in any way possible,” said Carolyn Cohen. “It’s awful to see and hear these stories of young people who have no protections and are kept in detainment centers,” said Cristin Stephens.

Pence spent about an hour inside the hotel before leaving. Outside demonstrations continued around Rittenhouse Square.

Apparently 'Mom' (R) thinks breaking up families and caging kids is the perfect republican THING to do, has not uttered a peep of concern.

Citizens need to know who the Republican donors are. Their businesses, etc. I am assuming some of them are not Russians.
