Senators call on National Science Foundation to investigate climate change grants
Source: CNN
(CNN)Four Republican senators have called on National Science Foundation Inspector General Allison Lerner to investigate the foundation's grant-making process, citing a grant charged with enabling television meteorologists to provide viewers with climate change education.
In the June 18 letter, Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and James Lankford and Jim Inhofe, both of Oklahoma, express their concern that the National Science Foundation has "issued several grants which seek to influence political and social debate rather than conduct scientific research."

Fuck the gop fuzzy science idiots. For 2018..above normal temps,
drought, no doubt fires in the midwest..Americans need to know
what is happening to the world from global warming...they need
to understand the causes.

NSF supports basic research; it has no political agenda other than the support of basic scientific research for the national good. That mission includes initiatives - including community outreach - to educate students and citizens about the results of that research.
The actions of these willfully ignorant, cynical senators endanger our present and future national security.
God, I hope that Beto can somehow take Cruz down in the coming election.
November can't come too soon for me.

(21,161 posts)Born and raised. The weather has changed so much in my lifetime living here. One day hot the next cold. Friday it was 73 degrees warm and sunny. The deviation from one day to the next is what is so strange.
Our summers are usually foggy, brisk and muggy. It was just bone chilling cold on 6/21.

"Oh, sure, the experts say that space is a vacuum, but I have a vacuum, and there are no planets in it. How can you have planets in a vacuum? We don't need ships that are sealed up. That's just propaganda from the scientists who profit from the spaceship window agenda."
