Steve King singles out Somali Muslims over pork
The Iowa congressman says they shouldnt work in his districts meat-packing plants because they wont eat pig products.

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said Friday that he doesnt want Somali Muslims working at meat-packing plants in his district because they want consumers of pork to be sent to hell.
In a Breitbart News radio interview, the eight-term congressman, known for his inflammatory anti-immigrant rhetoric, said his views were shaped by a conversation with Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), whom he called the lead Muslim in Congress.
King said Ellison told him that Muslims would require a special dispensation from an imam in order to be able to handle pork in one of his districts meat-packing plants. The rationale is that if infidels are eating this pork, [the Muslims] are not eating it, King said. So as long as theyre preparing this pork for infidels, it helps send them to hell and it must make Allah happy. ... I dont want people doing my pork that wont eat it, let alone hope I go to hell for eating pork chops, he concluded.
Ellisons office declined to comment on Kings interpretation of the Minnesota congressmans remarks.

Say, Steve. If the slaughterhouses lack workers, theres no pork. No pork, no profit. No profit, no slaughterhouses. No slaughterhouses, no jobs.
No jobs, less money and the ripple effects go through Iowas economy.
What a fool! And I remember when at least a few Repuds had a marginal grasp on economics. I guess those days are over!

(35,077 posts)Theres more pork to sell abroad, theyre certainly not going to steal it if theyre not interested in consuming it, and theyre going to be more careful in handling it, so thats a plus for both safety on the job (which is sorely needed in the meatpacking industry) and for the consumer.
And Steve, no place where you are at is Heaven, so you dont have to worry about what Muslims think.

(7,218 posts)The reason those meat-packing companies want to hire Muslim immigrants/refugees is because they show up, work had - and can pass their company's standard drug tests. And any subsequent drug testing.
Americans fail the drug tests! The percentage of American workers testing positive is at its highest level in a decade with a whopping 20% of employees failing tests for marijuana, amphetamines, crystal meth, and heroin. That's why refugees are quickly snapping up jobs - every time they fire someone, they replace him with a refugee.
That's called, by a certain person we all know and hate: "Winning!"
