Sarah Sanders to receive Secret Service protection
Source: MSN
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders is expected to receive Secret Service protection as soon as Wednesday, two sources familiar with the decision tell CNN, but they did not specify how long it will last.
The Secret Service declined to comment, telling CNN: "For operational security purposes the Secret Service does not comment on its protective operations."
The news comes days after Sanders was asked to leave a small Lexington, Virginia, restaurant because of her role with the Trump administration, a move that has since sparked a national conversation on civility and public service in the age of Trump.
NBC News first reported that Sanders would begin receiving protection.
Sanders did not immediately respond to a CNN request for comment.
Speaking about the restaurant incident during Monday's White House press briefing, Sanders said she and her husband "politely left."
"I was asked to leave because I worked for President Trump," she said, adding, "We are allowed to disagree but we should be able to do so freely and without fear of harm, and this goes for all people regardless of politics."
She continued: "Healthy debate on ideas and political philosophy is important, but the calls for harassment and push for any Trump supporter to avoid the public is unacceptable."

(49,036 posts)No threats? You have read all her mail, email, texts, items left at her places, etc.? No you have not. But the Secret Service has obviously read enough to have decided there exist real threats of possible violence against her. That is what they do.
So many in this thread are oblivious to the reality that there are violent people on the left and far left

As people have noted over and over - the media has normalized their behavior and when people push back, the same media chides them for doing so.

Having Secret Service protection seems to be a status symbol in the Trump regime. At some point there are not going to be enough trained agents to cover all the operachiks who think they deserve it.

(49,036 posts)Please have more imagination and understand that the threats the Secret Service has seen and assessed are realistic enough to trigger the protection. You can't just ask for protection and get it automatically.

(14,176 posts)I'm sure Trump and his inner circle of p****ygrabbing billionaires thought it would also help to raise more alarm bells, adrenaline, and violence/chaos in his deplorable army, as if they weren't jacked up enough already on guns, oxi, and a taste for revenge on their enemies, as dictated by Fox News and RW radio shows. Now dear sister Sarah has to have Secret Service to protect her against the dark state funded antifa liberal terrorists too. Its getting out of hand, first asked to leave a restaurant, what will it be next?..people stopping believing anything you say?. News like that presumes that they are needed because of a real threat. The threat level has risen from green to light green. Oh my gosh....I'm melting.

(3,426 posts)is most certainly worthy of honorable mention. However I must say it does seem to me somewhat of a stretch , the timing I mean of the press release informing the people Sarah Huckabee Sanders will have secret service protection . Not being one to deny a thing called coincidence, I must say it does seem somewhat sketchy. Was it the restaurant thing one may ask ones self ,could that little thing be the reason - ?. What about president Donald, he seemed to be infuriated ,according to his tweets-, about the dirty filthy windows at the Red Hen , and a building in severe need of painting ,filth and disgust he had to say. Oh yes he was quick to jump on the whoop dee do . Very Quick. And the secret service, it is after all a federal entity subject to influence ,the powers that be . I cannot imagine a direct presidential order to expedite secret service protection to the order of the immediate for Sarah, signed by The Donald himself, after all that would leave a paper trail.
I would assume, in good faith of course , there must be some type of valid reasoning ,seemingly so at the very least.
And to yer point about the same secret service that was there before Mr. Trump, and after he leaves the office of the presidency forever.
Presidents come and go but the secret service is there to stay.
At least Spicy was funny, Spicy in the bushes, Spicy in the window,Spicy didn't,'t get an audience with the pope.
And lastly Bernardo ,it does seem somewhat odd the location of the restaurant in a small town that voted blue in a red state. Something about that invites suspicion. That doesn't mean there was anything suspicious about their reason for choosing that particular location.
Bill Clinton had some nice words for Sarah Huckabee Sanders, but he went on to say ,if you want civility ,quit stirring the pot of hate and divide. And guess what, thats a no brainer, you know (DUH).

(3,426 posts)It seems to me ,most of the post's indicate nobody seems to believe the dedication of secret service agents to protect Sarah Huckabee Sanders is not in some way connected to the situation that occurred at the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington Va. After all it is indeed a well known fact Huckabee Sanders father is well connected to a certain religious political order and the power in those numbers are Donald Trump's lust.
That to a given, it would not be too far in a stretch to suspect the secret service was under pressure to release that information .And given Donald Trump's uncontrollable temperament whereby he fly's off in a rage over most anything that displeases him,Well, one can only imagine what it must have been like at and in the White house since the situation happened.
How it is those republicans go after those small towns of seemingly little significance in the turning of the big wheels and somehow it goes up like a volcanic eruption. Fort Lee N.J. ,Lexington Va. my oh my. But, who would see it ?
