Source: MSNBC, trump tweet
Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt, who has faced mounting public outcry over multiple ethics scandals, has resigned from his position, President Donald Trump announced Thursday.
In a pair of tweets, Trump said that Pruitt had offered his resignation and that the president had accepted.
"I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this," Trump tweeted.
"The Senate confirmed Deputy at EPA, Andrew Wheeler, will
....on Monday assume duties as the acting Administrator of the EPA," the president added.

Too bad he's already done so much damage. No way of reversing that. Maybe that was the plan all along. Pruitt was the sacrificial lamb.

(51,638 posts)We should harass all of them 24/7 if this is the result. Could be faster than Mueller. I know Stephen Miller was harassed but it didn't have the same impact. I guess when you have a bunch of wires and batteries in place of organs and blood, it takes a little longer to find any trace of a real live human being that has actual feelings. Dems should be tailing him and the other crazies in the W House after they leave work.

Scott Pruitt, facing more than a dozen federal inquiries, resigned as Environmental Protection Agency administrator on Thursday.
I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, President Trump tweeted. Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this. The Senate confirmed Deputy at EPA, Andrew Wheeler, will on Monday assume duties as the acting Administrator of the EPA. I have no doubt that Andy will continue on with our great and lasting EPA agenda. We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!

2. Will he be taking his "Super-Secret" $42,000 phone booth with him?
3. Will he be flying first-class back to Oklahoma?
4. Will he continue to have 24-hour bodyguard protection?
5. Will the missus be able to support them both with her $200,000 job at Chick-fil-A?
I'd have to see such an outstanding public servant have to suffer after all of the wonderful things he has done for us.............

(64 posts)Resignation isn't enough from this criminal. I want public humiliation, endless harrassment to him and his family, monetary ruin that completely wipes out his finances forcing him to be poor, sexual scandal that embarrasses him and his family, lawsuits that bankrupt him and his children, and as a final blow - a massive, jaw-breaking punch to the face...which I'd be happy to administer.
Fuck Scott Pruitt and his family for eternity. I mean this 100%.

(73 posts)Wheeler is a big fan of Massey Energy and worked for James Inhofe.
In other words, he in no way believes in protecting the environment.
But there's no sign of corruption here. So he will work under the radar dismantling the agency, and the media won't give a shit because there isn't anything sensational to report there.
This is a win for Trump.
Pruitt can go back and make millions in the private sector where he will be considered a folk hero.
These are really bad times. USEPA has already been set back 30 years. I don't think it will ever fully recover.
