Todd Akin Goes After Reince Priebus: He Has A 'Personal Vendetta'

Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) is not taking criticism from his party lying down.

The embattled Republican Senate candidate from Missouri, who has been all but abandoned by the GOP after stating that women rarely get pregnant from "legitimate rape," lashed out at Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Tuesday, accusing him in a statement posted on his website of holding a "personal vendetta."

UPDATE: 4:25 p.m. -- Akin is not the only person on his campaign to feel the heat. Several staff members and volunteers have received emails urging them to quit or risk their future in the party, according to Akin spokesman Ryan Hite.

I hope this isn't too much of a distraction from the main trainwreck concerning the Ron Paul delegates.

Mr. Mistaken-bout-baby-makin deserves no sympathy for the pressure he and his campaigners are and will continue to experience. His party will turn on him like rabid dogs, if there is any chance a Republican could snag that seat with him out of the way. I say, enjoy the sideshow, and hope it illuminates the public on how that side of the aisle does things.

First, he is reduced to saying "I am not losing" in a confrontation with Chris Matthews and now is called out for his personal vendetta by Todd Akin. The poor guy can't win for losing. Actually, I'm not sure who is the bigger jerk, Priebus or Akin. Both have stepped into it with their mouth.

can't remember who it was, say that they will be running a third party female candidate and supporting her instead of Akin. Hopefully it splits the conservative vote.
