Pelosi: Jordan's push to impeach Rosenstein an effort to distract from OSU wrestling scandal

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday suggested the conservative push to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was launched, at least in part, to divert attention from Rep. Jim Jordans (R-Ohio) entanglements in the sexual abuse investigation swirling around Ohio State University's wrestling program.
Jordan, a conservative firebrand who helped introduce the impeachment articles against Rosenstein on Wednesday, was an assistant coach for OSUs wrestling team decades ago when a now-deceased medical doctor is accused of sexually abusing scores of athletes across a spectrum of sports.
A number of the accusers have said Jordan knew of the abuse and did nothing to stop it a charge the six-term lawmaker vehemently denies.

I dont know, but what Ive heard is Jim Jordan wants to take attention away from the scrutiny that he is under in Ohio, Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol when asked what she thought was fueling the impeachment push. .....................................................

The legal fallout from the case also fell heavily on former Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary. His eyewitness account of a 2001 assault by Sandusky played a big role in Sandusky's conviction. However, the university eventually put him on leave and he subsequently wasn't rehired. He sued the university for defamation and last fall a jury awarded him $7.3 million in damages. The judge later upped the total Penn State must pay McQueary to about $12 million, adding an additional amount to cover past and future lost wages, and adding another $1 million in non-economic damages.

Sandusky was the guilty assistant coach who is behind bars for the rest of his life. The famous coach, Joe Paterno, was fired and he died not long after. Two other parties (PSU VP & PSU Athletic Dir.) served several month jail sentences after pleading guilty to a coverup. The third individual - the former PSU President is still out on bail after his conviction pending resolution of his appeal.
So it will be interesting to see if OSU follows a similar path on how their case gets handled...

(51,627 posts)and is tabling it u til Sept. Jordan is going after Ryan's seat when he RESIGNS this year's. Apparently Jordan has no worries about his legal issues. Make his life miserable during his Summer Recess. Harass and follow him whenever he leaves his lair like the resisters did with McConnell (twice), Fuckubee Sanders, Neilson and Stephen Miller.
