US military plane leaves North Korea with remains of soldiers from Korean War

Source: The Hill

A U.S. military plane left North Korea on Thursday carrying the remains of U.S. troops killed decades ago in the Korean War, the White House said.

The Air Force C-17 aircraft left the coast city of Wonsan and is en route to Osan Air Base in South Korea, roughy 43 miles south of Seoul, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.

Once the remains arrive in South Korea, a formal repatriation ceremony will be held on Aug. 1.

It was not immediately clear how many remains had been handed over to the U.S., though South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported Thursday that it was about 50.

treated like poker chips. There's hardly anyone alive to decorate these graves here anymore, wouldn't it actually be more respectful to leave these remains in NK.

It's not just parents of those 'remains'.

There was a son on the evening news hoping to get his father's remains back for burial.
Spouses, children, grandchildren, etc.

So, there are family members alive hoping to get their loved ones home.

In addition to the 200 sets of remains Donald said we already got - right?

Donald uses the bodies of our servicemen as tools for his propaganda lies.

Of course, Donald does not actually care about them. He likes soldiers who were not captured.

“We got back our great fallen heroes, the remains sent back today, already 200 got sent back,” Trump told a rally in Duluth, Minnesota Wednesday, according to Reuters.

The key problem with remains being recovered from North Korea is that often they are commingled, which means it will take longer to identify the remains...it may take years before any positive identification is made

Families are still going to be waiting for any closure!

"After a formal repatriation ceremony, the remains will then go to the Defence POW/MIA Accounting Agency lab (DPAA) in Hawaii - which describes itself as the largest anthropological lab in the world - where remains from servicemen from World War II, Korea and Vietnam are tested."

Are you under the impression that the staff there is changed under each administration? Because, no.
I am sure they will do a professional job with the ID.

The "US Soldiers' Remains" that were handed over by North Korea were actually random animal bones, not those of US soldiers. I have not been able to find confirmation as to the veracity of this. Can anyone help?

For it to happen this fast, they've had them in their possession & never gave them back.
It takes quite a bit of time to go into the field and recover remains from the 50s. So these must have already been in storage.
