White House Repeatedly Refuses To Say Journos Aren't 'Enemy Of The People'

Asked Thursday to say definitively that the media arent an enemy of the people, as administration staffer and presidential daughter Ivanka Trump did earlier in the day, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders refused to do so multiple times.
Instead, she delivered the White Houses tried-and-true anti-media line, at one point telling the press they shouldve covered President Donald Trumps recent trip to Florida in a more positive light.
Just this week, the media refused to cover his remarks in Florida highlighting efforts on workforce development, Sanders told NPRs Sarah McCammon, who asked about Ivanka Trumps comments. In fact, the pooler for the press said that there was no news made, despite the fact that the governor of the state joined with dozens of businesses across the state of Florida to announce thousands of new jobs.
CNNs Jim Acosta pressed Sanders later: You did not say that the press is not the enemy of the people, he said, before asking her to do so. I think we deserve that.

(58,724 posts)SHS has only one job - to speak on behalf on Donald Trump.
Why do people think she would do anything other than what she did?
If she is unwilling to defend the "enemy of the people" line then she should resign her position.
If she is going to continue in her role, then this is what she has to say and defend. That is her job.

(58,724 posts)She is literally nothing but Trump's mouthpiece.
Edit to add: Unless she wants to resign, which, if she had any principles, she would have done already.

The second is to make the administration's policies and position more palatable to the public, of which she is failing miserably at.
Part and parcel of any spokespersons job. That too is her job. Though tt may be a rather complex thought to many people, the existence of one job obligation does not always deny other job obligations.

(58,724 posts)My assertion, though, is that if she feels she cannot defend what Trump is saying, then she should resign.
Since she is not resigning, reporters should assume that she is going to defend what Trump is saying, rather than contradict him.

For God-effin'-sake, media---PULL THE PLUG!!
Let the Trump assholes spread their slime through Fox News and other incestuous ways. Legitimate media should stop coverning Trump, his 15 minutes of fame is waaaaay over.
