Judge says Trump team '100 percent' responsible for finding deported immigrant parents

Source: USA Today

Alan Gomez, USA TODAY Published 4:48 p.m. ET Aug. 3, 2018 | Updated 5:09 p.m. ET Aug. 3, 2018

A federal judge on Friday rejected a Trump administration request to make the ACLU primarily responsible for locating migrant parents who were deported after they were separated from their children, making clear that the government bears "100 percent" of the burden.

U.S. District Judge Dana Sabraw said the ACLU and a team of non-governmental organizations, volunteers, and pro-bono attorneys can help locate about 400 parents who were deported and have not yet been located by the government. But Sabraw said that ACLU lawyers, who are representing plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit, are not the ones who separated the families in the first place.

"The reality is that for every parent who is not located, there will be a permanently orphaned child, and that is 100 percent the responsibility of the administration," Sabraw said. "The government has the sole burden and responsibility and obligation to make (reunifications) happen."

The judge also scolded administration officials for moving so slowly to track down the deported parents. He cited an estimate that only about a dozen of the parents have been found in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, asking, "Is that true?"

The U.S. taxpayer will be responsible for the the money, time, and manpower necessary to try to fix the Trump team's wreckless enforcement and mismanagement of the separation policy.

Some parents and children may end up paying the ultimate price of never being reunited.

Two rulings in one day...Happy, happy weekend!
DACA and now this. Soooooooooooo glad for all of the families. There is still work to do but I am grateful for any ruling in our favor since we all know he is stacking the courts with his own picks. Now we have to stop Kavanaugh.

And posted with their location and have a website available to all parents , and people connected to use to identify , and set in place their return. I also bet they're lying about the numbers of children they've taken. they've lied about everything else. When they are all exposed for what they've done to these children it will be horrific, and show it was their intentions to hurt them badly all along. People responsible need to go to jail for child abuse, and forced out of office.

Apparently, the Trump regime doesn't grasp the full meaning of court ORDER. The judge didn't make a request, it was an order. We don't need to look too far to explain this. The Republicans are now the party of criminality and the opponents of law and order, the judiciary, and federal law enforcement. Go figure...
